MADISON, Wis. (AP) ― One group of 可能性のある 候補者s for 大統領,/社長 probably won't be shuffling off to Iowa, New Hampshire or other 早期に (選挙などの)運動をする 位置/汚点/見つけ出すs in the new year. They'll be hunkered 負かす/撃墜する in 州議会議事堂s across the Midwest, 押し進めるing 法案s through their 立法機関s.

Should any of these 知事s join the race for the White House, their 明言する/公表する 記録,記録的な/記録するs would become their 長,指導者 資格 for higher office and might 供給する some distance from 同志/支持者 戦う/戦いs in Washington. The 知事s could also 利益 from 存在 in a 地域 rich with swing 明言する/公表するs.

"All those 知事s have stories of success to tell and stories about 危機 管理/経営," said 退役軍人 共和国の/共和党の 大統領の strategist Charlie 黒人/ボイコット.

Here's a look at what the four Midwestern 知事s are planning in 2015, and how they would be positioned to 捜し出す the 大統領/総裁などの地位.

___

MIKE PENCE, INDIANA

Pence, a former 下院議員 and a popular 人物/姿/数字 の中で social 保守的なs, is working to reshape the 明言する/公表する's public education system. The goal is to 許す 事実上 any child to …に出席する any school, public or 私的な, with public money.

Indiana's school-choice 率先 ― the nation's most 広範囲にわたる ― was begun by Pence's 共和国の/共和党の 前任者, Mitch Daniels. Pence is 押し進めるing to 拡大する it this year by 解除するing income caps for families 捜し出すing 明言する/公表する money to send their children to a 私的な school.

Pence also wants to 許す more parents in five 操縦する 郡s to choose their children's preschool. And he wants the 立法機関 to 増加する money for 借り切る/憲章 schools, which are 公然と 基金d but operate outside the normal public education system.

Since Indiana's school choice system went into 影響 in 2011, almost 5 パーセント of Indiana students are using 保証人/証拠物件s to …に出席する 私的な schools or 借り切る/憲章 schools.

Critics argue that the 成果/努力 is siphoning off needed money from public schools. But 保守的なs 主張する the 競争 is good for families and 刺激(する)s education 改良 全体にわたる.

If he runs, Pence's education 記録,記録的な/記録する would be a popular talking point, 特に in Iowa, 場所/位置 of the first 大統領の (政党の)幹部会,党集会s, which is a hotbed of home schooling.

And Pence, 58, has other 信任状. He is 高度に regarded by the Christian 権利, having been an outspoken evangelical on a 無線で通信する show he hosted during his time in the U.S. House.

___

RICK SNYDER, MICHIGAN

Snyder may already have the flashiest 記録,記録的な/記録する of any Midwestern 知事, but his 業績/成就s are also the trickiest to tout in a 共和国の/共和党の 大統領の 最初の/主要な.

Snyder 押し進めるd his 明言する/公表する's financially 難破させるd metropolis, Detroit, into 連邦の 破産 法廷,裁判所, a 仕事 that some people thought would take years, if it could be done at all. A year and a half later, the city 現れるd with a はしけ 負債 重荷(を負わせる), though still 直面するing many difficulties.

That feat alone would give Snyder, a former computer compan y (n)役員/(a)執行力のある, unrivaled 信用性 as a turnaround artist. But to 調印(する) the Detroit 取引,協定, he had to commit $195 million in 明言する/公表する money, making him a 的 for anti-spending 保守的なs in a 国家の (選挙などの)運動をする.

さもなければ, he's been shaking up 税金s, 除去するing the 明言する/公表する's 法人税 and 提案するing to raise others, like the 燃料 税金, to 直す/買収する,八百長をする the 明言する/公表する's 崩壊するing roads. In the coming 開会/開廷/会期, he'll try to 拡大する technical education to help fill more than 70,000 開始s for 技術d 職業s.

Snyder's 乗り気 to 逸脱する from 保守的な orthodoxy ― he 拡大するd Medicaid にもかかわらず his party's stand against 大統領 Barack Obama's health care 精密検査する ― would make him 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑う to the GOP's 右翼. But 底(に届く)-line 共和国の/共和党のs could be impressed by the 300,000 私的な-部門 職業s created on Snyder's watch, an 失業率 that dropped from 11.3 パーセント to 6.7 パーセント and a 権利-to-work 法律 that made union 会員の地位 optional.

Should he run, Snyder might join the "practical" 候補者s in the GOP field, such as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

"He's got a phenomenal 記録,記録的な/記録する in a very difficult 明言する/公表する," said fellow 共和国の/共和党の Gov. Terry Branstad of Iowa.

SCOTT WALKER, WISCONSIN

Already renowned by 保守的なs for his 乗り気 to challenge 組織するd labor, Walker is setting out to beef up his 保守的な 記録,記録的な/記録する on both 会計の and social 政策.

Walker is calling on his GOP-controlled 立法機関 to 減ずる income and 所有物/資産/財産 税金s. He's also 非難するd Wisconsin's 採択 of ありふれた 核心 school 基準s. Though once popular on the 権利, the 基準s are now shunned as 政府 overreach.

Walker's 法律を制定する 協議事項 for 2015 含むs another 保守的な favorite: 要求するing 受取人s of food stamps and 失業 利益s to pass a 麻薬 実験(する).

So far, he has resisted a more ambitious 計画(する) by 主要な 共和国の/共和党の 国会議員s to pass 権利-to-work 法律制定, which could 誘発する/引き起こす a 猛烈な/残忍な union (激しい)反発 and かもしれない 追加する weeks to the 法律を制定する 開会/開廷/会期.

His coolness toward this プロの/賛成の-商売/仕事 優先 is ありそうもない to cost him in a 国家の (選挙などの)運動をする, though, because of his success in stripping his 明言する/公表する's public-従業員 unions of most of their 取引ing 力/強力にするs soon after taking office.

___

JOHN KASICH, OHIO

Kasich made his 示す in the U.S. House as a 会計の 強硬派 while serving as chairman of the House 予算 委員会. And while he has also 直面するd 組織するd labor, he is known more as a social 穏健な and a spending-支配(する)/統制する 改革運動家.

The former Ohio 下院議員 has said he will keep trying to 減ずる the 明言する/公表する's 所得税 toward its 排除/予選 and 制定する 職業 training. He 計画(する)s to 実験(する) a 国家の message 支持するing a 連邦の balanced 予算 改正 before making a 決定/判定勝ち(する) on whether to run in 2016.

の中で 保守的なs, he'll also get credit for trying to (土地などの)細長い一片 public 従業員 unions' 取引ing 権利s to 減ずる 圧力 on the 予算, but 投票者s later 廃止するd his 法律制定 through a 国民投票.

Should he run, Kasich could join Bush in the 中心 of the GOP field.

"I don't think you'll see him jetting off to Iowa or New Hampshire very soon," said Kasich confidant Doug Preisse. "But some will say the balanced 予算 改正 is a different way of 掴むing the 国家の スポットライト."
