Ex-Goldman Sachs leader, 9/11 Museum 設立するing chairman dies

NEW YORK (AP) ― John C. Whitehead, a 塀で囲む Street 銀行業者 who led Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s international 拡大 in the 1970s and '80s and later was 設立するing chairman of the 国家の Sept. 11 記念の & Museum, died Saturday. He was 92.

Whitehead joined Goldman Sachs in 1947 and worked his way to 上級の partner and co-chairman before leaving 38 years later to become 副 長官 of 明言する/公表する under 大統領 Ronald Reagan.

In later years, he was chairman of the Lower Manhattan 開発 Corp., which helped lead the area's 再構築するing after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. He was 定評のある for 打ち勝つing 障害s to help 確実にする the 9/11 記念の and museum reached fundraising goals, finished with an 許容できる design and got built.
