Three No. 1 seeds , 含むing unbeaten Kentucky, still alive
When the NCAA Tournament reaches the 甘い 16, that means there are only 15 games left to decide a 国家の 支持する／優勝者.
Kentucky needs to 勝利，勝つ four of those games to become the first undefeated 支持する／優勝者 since Indiana in 1976. The Wildcats 改善するd to 36-0 ― the best start to a season for any team ― with a workmanlike 勝利，勝つ over Cincinnati. Next up in the Midwest 地域の semifinal is West Virginia, another team that will come 権利 at Kentucky and try to 軍隊 turnovers, the Mountaineers' trademark this season.
The East 地域 changed 劇的な entering the 甘い 16 with 最高の，を越す seeds Villanova and Virginia 追い出すd. It's the first time since 2004 ― and eighth time ever ― that the 最高の，を越す two teams from one 地域 failed to 前進する to the second week.

The 大西洋 Coast 会議／協議会 and Pac-12 entered the 一連の会議、交渉／完成する of 32 as the only leagues with three or more teams not to lose a game. The ACC is 11-1 with Virginia's loss to Michigan 明言する／公表する the only blemish. The Pac-12 is 7-1 に引き続いて Oregon's loss to 最高の，を越す-seeded Wisconsin.

The Spartans have reached the 地域の 準決勝 for the seventh time in the last eight years. They will 直面する Oklaho ma in Syracuse, New York.
Izzo has a 13-1 記録，記録的な／記録する in games in the 一連の会議、交渉／完成する of 32. He was surprised a bit that this team won its second game to move on.
"We've been a team all year that has banged around, probably lost more games than we should have just because of the 解放する／自由な-throw 状況／情勢 or dumb coaching with 2, 3 seconds left to go in the game and people hitting 3s and tying it," Izzo said. "But I think we've had to earn every 選び出す／独身 thing we've gotten because every game's been like that. So I think they felt comfortable in a game because that's the way not their whole tournament has gone or the Big Ten Tournament, their whole season has gone that way. I'm really proud of this team. I don't use that word lightly when I speak and I am."
