New 証言 shows Clinton '荒廃させるd' by Benghazi attack

WASHINGTON (AP) ― A "荒廃させるd" Hillary Rodham Clinton worked late into the night on Sept. 11, 2012, trying to 保護する her people caught in an attack on a 外交の outpost in Benghazi, Libya, that 最終的に killed the U.S. 外交官/大使 and three other Americans, a の近くに Clinton 補佐官 said in 証言 解放(する)d Wednesday.

But the former 長官 of 明言する/公表する was "深く,強烈に engaged" in 確実にするing the others made it home, 追加するd Cheryl Mills, Clinton's former 長,指導者 of staff, who spoke to the GOP-led House Benghazi 委員会 last month. 民主党員s on the 委員会 解放(する)d the 十分な, 307-page transcript of Mills' 発言/述べるs a day ahead of Clinton's 外見 before the パネル盤, 説 共和国の/共和党のs were making out-of-状況 and 誤って導くing 漏れるs.

Nothing in the 証言 appeared to shed new light on the deadly 暴力/激しさ that already has been scrutinized by an 独立した・無所属 review board and seven previous congressional 調査(する)s. Instead, the 9? hours of 支援する-and-前へ/外へ served まず第一に/本来 to preview the 同志/支持者 atmosphere and vastly 相違する 尋問 that will 迎える/歓迎する Clinton, the Democratic 前線-走者 for the 2016 大統領の 指名/任命.

Jamal Ware, a 広報担当者 for the 委員会's 共和国の/共和党の chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, said the transcript showed that for 民主党員s, once again, "this is all about Hillary Clinton ― and not about the four 勇敢に立ち向かう Americans who were killed by テロリストs in Benghazi."

Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland, the パネル盤's 最高の,を越す 民主党員, said that 民主党員s "are now 訂正するing the 記録,記録的な/記録する" by 解放(する)ing the entirety of Mills' 証言. He and other 民主党員s say the $4.5 million 調査 is a taxpayer-基金d (選挙などの)運動をする to 損失 Clinton's 企て,努力,提案 for 大統領,/社長. After 17 months, it has now gone on longer than the 1970s Watergate 調査(する).

外交官/大使 Chris Stevens, 明言する/公表する Department 従業員 Sean Smith and 中央情報局 請負業者s Tyrone 支持を得ようと努めるd and Glen Doherty die d in Benghazi that night.

Occurring in the heat of a 大統領の (選挙などの)運動をする, the attack すぐに became the source of political 不一致. 共和国の/共和党のs have challenged 大統領 Barack Obama and Clinton, his 最高の,を越す 外交官 at the time, on 安全 at the 施設, the 軍の 返答 to the 暴力/激しさ and the 行政's changing narrative about who was responsible and why.

But the 調査s have been 示すd by several implausible 共謀 theories, 非,不,無 of which seem to be 前進するd by Mills' 証言.

No new 証拠 was introduced to 示唆する, as some 共和国の/共和党のs have (人命などを)奪う,主張するd, that Clinton or any other 最高の,を越す 公式の/役人 ordered the 軍の to "stand 負かす/撃墜する" during the 包囲 of the 外交の 地位,任命する or a その後の attack on a nearby 中央情報局 施設. Mills also batted 負かす/撃墜する the idea that Clinton 本人自身で 否定するd requests for more 安全 or ordered Stevens to Benghazi that evening, or of U.S. 公式の/役人s engaged in an (a)手の込んだ/(v)詳述する gun-running 計画/陰謀 from eastern Libya.

As the attack 広げるd, Mills said Clinton was so engaged in the 返答 that "it took some people aback when she even decided to go to a staff-level" 会合.

"What she really was communicating that night is, 'I'm here because I want my team 安全な. I'm not here ... for any other 推論する/理由,'" Mills 解任するd, 追加するing that her boss felt 苦痛 for the loss of all four men.

"Stevens was someone she had a lot of 信用/信任 and 尊敬(する)・点 for, and his 指導/手引 and his way was a 説得力のある one," Mills said. "And the notion that he had been 殺人d, I think, was something that all of us thought was unbearable, but I think she 特に felt the 苦痛 of that."

Although she didn't know the others and two of them weren't 明言する/公表する Department 職員/兵員, Mills said Clinton "felt very 堅固に about (人命などを)奪う,主張するing all of them" and "栄誉(を受ける)ing their service."

The 解放(する) of the 証言 同時に起こる/一致するd with new TV 広告s Wednesday by a political 活動/戦闘 委員会 that supports Clinton 焦点(を合わせる)ing on comments by House 大多数 Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., that credited the Benghazi パネル盤 with 運動ing 負かす/撃墜する Clinton's 投票 numbers.

"共和国の/共和党のs are playing politics over Benghazi," says the 広告 sponsored by 優先s USA.

It follows an 広告 that 空気/公表するd earlier this month from a group called the Stop Hillary PAC, which 描写するd Stevens' 墓/厳粛/彫る/重大な and pictures of all the Americans killed in Benghazi, portraying them as asking Clinton questions. The 犠牲者s' families said the pictures were used without their knowledge or 許可.
