An out-of-place トラックで運ぶ, then 叫び声をあげるs as Nice attack 広げるd
NICE, フラン (AP) ― Almost 即時に, those in its murderous path could tell that the スピード違反 white トラックで運ぶ was all wrong so late at night on Nice's beachfront boulevard whose 有望な lights glittered along the bay like a string of 星／主役にするs.
The Promenade des Anglais was meant to be の近くにd to traffic, 非常線，警戒線d off with metal 障壁s and plastic tape, so families and tourists could stroll worry-解放する／自由な beside the azure waters of the Mediterranean and marvel at the Bastille Day 花火s.
The トラックで運ぶ sped straight for them, slowing at times, 加速するing at others, leaving death, 叫び声をあげるs and horrific 傷害s in its wake.

"I realized 権利 away it was a テロリスト attack when I saw the トラックで運ぶ 鎮圧するing peo ple," said Antonio Arribas, who was with his cousin, Diego.
The rented 19-トン (21 U.S.-トン) トラックで運ぶ zigzagged for 2 キロメーターs (1? miles) through holiday （人が）群がるs like a snow 骨折って進む, leaving a gruesome 追跡する of 鎮圧するd and mangled 団体／死体s. The 84 dead 含むd French and foreigners, children and adults.
Just when Egyptian tourist Nader El Shafei looked like he might 落ちる next under its large wheels, the トラックで運ぶ stopped. The 攻撃者, a 31-year-old Tunisian who lived in Nice and drove for living, was killed by police 砲火.
Moments earlier, as the 花火s show was ending, El Shafei said he'd looked at the large （人が）群がるs and thought to himself: "If someone crazy want(s) to do something, this is the 権利 place and the 権利 time, の中で all those innocent people."
He had traveled to Nice 推定する／予想するing to see "楽園."
"But I saw something else," he said.
He caught the scene on ビデオ ― the crackle of 射撃s, officers warily approaching the cab with its windshield pockmarked with 穴を開けるs. El Shafei said he saw the driver, later identified by 当局 as Mohamed Bouhlel, 解雇する／砲火／射撃 支援する through a window.
フラン's third attack with 集まり 死傷者s in 18 months was even more 無差別の than the others. The dead in Nice 含むd at least 10 children and adolescents. They had come to marvel at the 花火s, "to feel joy, to 株 in happiness and be dazzled," said 大統領 Francois Hollande.
"And they were struck, struck to death, to 満足させる the cruelty of an individual and perhaps of a group," he said after visiting a hospital that 扱う／治療するd 犠牲者s.
French 公式の／役人s called it an 否定できない 行為／法令／行動する of terror, but no group （人命などを）奪う，主張するd responsibilit y and it was 不明瞭な if the driver had any 関係 to 極端論者s.
Paris 検察官，検事 Francois Molins said the refrigerated トラックで運ぶ was rented in the 郊外s of Nice on July 11. It was 予定 支援する July 13 but instead was parked east of the city.
Bouhlel 棒 a bike to the トラックで運ぶ, Molins said.
About 25 minutes before the 花火s show, he clambered 船内に and drove toward the city ― and the （人が）群がるd promenade 近づく Nice's glittering hotels.

ビデオ showed the トラックで運ぶ moving slowly at one point ― so slowly that a man in a white shirt was able, at a run, to catch up with it. There were two sharp sounds as he caught up with it. It was 不明瞭な whether the sounds were him banging on its の近くにd 支援する doors to get it to stop, or 砲火.
A スピード違反 motorcycle rider also pulled even with the driver's cab, swerving with a screech of tires around a 歩行者. The motorcyclist 溝へはまらせる／不時着するd his bike and also ran と一緒に and even managed to 得る，とらえる the トラックで運ぶ to try to get it to stop.

"I thought it could either be a drunk driver or a terror attack," said German tourist Richard Gutjahr, who filmed it from a hotel balcony.

"A lot of them had been dragged under the lorry and were not recognizable," English tourist Simon Coates, who was cycling 支援する to his hotel when the トラックで運ぶ approached, told the BBC. "I saw some dreadful things. It was like a 議会 of horrors. Every person seemed to have died in an ますます grotesque way."

El Shafei, the 42-year-old Egyptian, said the トラックで運ぶ ran over a girl before it stopped 権利 in 前線 of him.
While someone else pulled the motionless girl out from under the トラックで運ぶ, El Shafei said he started to yell at the driver.
He'd seen the トラックで運ぶ swerve and the driver 格闘する with the wheel before it stopped, he said, making him think this was an 事故 ― a loss of 支配（する）／統制する of the 乗り物 ― until the 発射s rang out.
"I kept waving to him, 'Stop, stop! There are people under your トラックで運ぶ,'" El Shafei said.
Police 勧めるd people to run, he 追加するd. He thought, "The トラックで運ぶ has a 爆弾 or something or maybe he is a 自殺 guy."
Panic gripped the promenade.
Cyril Croisy jumped off a 塀で囲む to the beach, breaking his arm. He hid there until he felt it was 安全な to 現れる. The Parisian had seen the トラックで運ぶ's trajectory and knew すぐに that this was an attack because it careened straight at a stand selling candy to children.
"We heard lots of people 叫び声をあげるing, and we saw the トラックで運ぶ continuing very, very 急速な／放蕩な," he said.
Croisy saw an 負傷させるd woman and said he crouched to help her. His 注目する，もくろむs filled with 涙／ほころびs at the still-raw memory.
"I was there when her heart stopped," he said.
He also heard a （犯罪の）一味ing phone that 明らかに belonged to a man who had been mowed do wn.
Croisy answered it. It was the man's 女性（の） companion, a short distance away, looking for him.
