Students, faculty ask UVa 大統領，／社長 not to 引用する Jefferson
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) ― The University of Virginia 大統領，／社長 defended her use of Thomas Jefferson quotations after a group of students and professors 非難するd her, 説 Jefferson shouldn't be used as a "moral compass" because he was a slave owner.

"By coincidence, on this exact day 191 years ago ― November 9, 1825, in the first year of classes at U.Va. ― Thomas Jefferson wrote to a friend that University of Virginia students 'are not of ordinary significance only: they are 正確に／まさに the persons who are to 後継する to the 政府 of our country, and to 支配する its 未来 敵意s, its friendships and fortunes.' I encourage today's U.Va. students to embrace that 責任／義務," Sullivan wrote last week.
