Emails show how ロシアの 公式の/役人s covered up 集まり 麻薬ing

MOSCOW (AP) ― Russia's 麻薬ing cover-up went far beyond the Olympics, によれば a 広大な 古記録 of emails 解放(する)d by a World Anti-麻薬ing 機関 捜査官/調査官.

Besides the 12 メダル 勝利者s from the 2014 Winter Olympics whose 見本s were 恐らく tampered with, messages show a system which covered up 麻薬 use by blind 競技者s and children as young as 15.

In 2015, a year after the Olympics, Russia's 最高の,を越す 麻薬ing scientist, Grigory Rodchenkov, complained that the 計画/陰謀 Richard McLaren 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語d the "disappearing 肯定的な methodology" had grown so large it was covering for 麻薬ing ― and 明らかな 職権乱用 ― in 無能にするd sports.

It was at this 研究室/実験室, and its former 場所/位置 どこかよそで in Moscow, that Rodchenkov 行為/行うd 開拓するing 研究 into steroids, at the same time as he says he was giving ロシアの 競技者s a "cocktail" of banned 実体s. Five blind 競技者s in powerlifting, a form of weightlifting, had 実験(する)d 肯定的な for the banned steroid methandienone at the same training (軍の)野営地,陣営. Rodchenkov 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑うd unscrupulous coaches eager for メダルs were 麻薬ing the 競技者s without their knowledge.

"It's a 不名誉," Rodchenkov wrote to Alexei Velikodny of ロシアの 明言する/公表する's Sports Training 中心. The coaches were "選ぶing on the blind (who) can't even see what people are giving them."

A year earlier, the 記録,記録的な/記録するs show Velikodny 問題/発行するing a "save" order for a 15-year-old competitor in 陸上競技 ― the 指示/教授/教育 which meant a failed 実験(する) was 報告(する)/憶測d as 消極的な.

The young 競技者 ― one of the most 約束ing juniors in Russia at the time ― was flagged up as a "Crimean 競技者" in the emails, a distinction which may have helped him 避ける a 禁止(する) after 実験(する)ing 肯定的な for マリファナ. It was May 2015, two months after Russia's 併合 of the Crimean 半島, and a failed 実験(する) at one of the first 競争s in Russia featuring Crimeans could have been embarrassing.

McLaren's 報告(する)/憶測 主張するs more than 1,000 ロシアの 競技者s 利益d from a cover-up 計画/陰謀 治めるd by 政府 公式の/役人s and Rodchenkov, the Moscow lab director who later fled Russia and turned his emails over to WADA. に引き続いて 批評 that his 中間の 報告(する)/憶測 in July 欠如(する)d 証拠 to 支援する up its (人命などを)奪う,主張するs, McLaren's 十分な 調査 is …を伴ってd by a website 含む/封じ込めるing thousands of pages of 文書s 含むing years of emails, charts 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)ing hundreds of 抑えるd 実験(する)s and copious photographs of urine 見本 瓶/封じ込めるs with telltale scratches that McLaren says 示す they were tampered with.

非,不,無 of the writers of the emails 答える/応じるd to requests for comment. However, the ロシアの 当局 have not 論争d the content of the messages. Some of the authors have been 一時停止するd from their 職業s, as was then-副 Sports 大臣 Yuri Nagornykh, who was placed on leave in the summer and 辞職するd in October.

The emails show a 深く,強烈に corrupt system, with lab staff worried about their 産業の-規模 麻薬ing cover-up 存在 exposed while they 直面するd 圧力 from ambitious 公式の/役人s to "save" more 最高の,を越す ロシアの 競技者s from 麻薬ing スキャンダルs. Even Rodchenkov struggled to keep pace with the sheer 規模 of ロシアの 麻薬ing.

In 早期に March 2014, すぐに after the Sochi Olympics had finished with Russia at the 最高の,を越す of the メダルs (米)棚上げする/(英)提議する, Rodchenkov remained under 圧力.

By his own admission, Rodchenkov had spent Russia's home Winter Olympics swapping dirty 見本s in the dead of night in the 一時的な Olympic 研究室/実験室 in Sochi, covering for up to 12 メダル 勝利者s whose 見本s appear to have been tampered with, によれば the McLaren 報告(する)/憶測.

Still, running the Sochi lab ahead of the Paralympics later in March, Rodchenkov was trying to hide his deceptions from the 非常に/多数の foreign 専門家s 草案d in to 確実にする the lab ran 滑らかに. That didn't stop him from coming under 明言する/公表する 圧力 to cover up more 事例/患者s, emails 漏れるd by Rodchenkov and published by McLaren show.

"I can't ignore OBVIOUSLY POSITIVE 見本s in 前線 of everybody," he wrote to the Sp orts Training 中心's Velikodny. That was in 返答 to a message asking Rodchenkov to cover for nine 陸上競技 competitors の直前に the world indoor 選手権s in Poland that month.

Six 競技者s could be "saved," but Rodchenkov 主張するd three 特に egregious 事例/患者s couldn't be covered up. The 競技者s who gave them were now "死体s who can't be brought 支援する to life."

Two months later Rodchenkov was again exasperated, telling Velikodny to "get 陸上競技 together and give them a final 警告. They've lost all 恐れる. They should all just be banned already."

Velikodny's 返答: "I agree!"

The ロシアの 跡をつける team would be banned by the end of the year, though not in the way Rodchenkov had 想像するd. A World Anti-麻薬ing 機関 調査 into the team was already 進行中で and would publish a damning 報告(する)/憶測 in November 2015, 原因(となる)ing 跡をつける's 治める/統治するing 団体/死体 to 一時停止する Russia from all international 競争, 結局 含むing the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

The email 古記録 含む/封じ込めるs hundreds of pages of messages, mostly between Rodchenkov and Velikodny, with 時折の cameos from junior lab staff, 麻薬-実験(する)ing 公式の/役人s and Nataliya Zhelanova, who was anti-麻薬ing 助言者 to Sports 大臣 Vitaly Mutko. について言及するs of Mutko and his 副 Nagornykh are 限られた/立憲的な to 初期のs, making their direct 関与 difficult to 証明する.

Russia's cover-up was 広大な, with more than 1,000 競技者s 概算の to have been 含むd. The sheer size was 重要な to its success, giving the impression of an active, fully-機能(する)/行事ing anti-麻薬ing system which in some years collected more 見本s than any other country, only to make 肯定的な 実験(する)s 消える in the lab.

That size also meant 伴う/関わるing many people at さまざまな level of the 明言する/公表する sports system, a 義務/負債 which was devastatingly exposed when a husband-and-wife team of whistleblowers ― one an 競技者 on steroids, the other a disillusioned 麻薬-実験(する) 機関 労働者 ― went public in 2014 with damning, yet only 部分的な/不平等な, 発覚s about the system. That, in turn, led to the WADA 報告(する)/憶測s which exposed the lab's deepest secrets.

While covering for 星/主役にするs, 公式の/役人s routinely 許すd obscure 競技者s to be banned ーするために keep up the 外見 of an efficient 麻薬-実験(する)ing system. 競技者s' 井戸/弁護士席-存在 was almost never discussed. にもかかわらず repeated 事例/患者s 伴う/関わるing GW1516, a 実体 not considered fit for human 消費 because of repeated 癌 事例/患者s in animal 実験(する)ing, 非,不,無 of the emails 含む/封じ込める any suggestions of discouraging its use.

The 古記録 has its 欠陥s, though. 文書s from the Sochi Olympics themselves are 著名な by their absence ― Rodchenkov has 以前 said he received 指示/教授/教育s about the games in 直面する-to-直面する 会合s with Nagornykh, the 副 sports 大臣, and a "handler" from the FSB 安全 service. Many 文書s are only 利用できる in the 初めの ロシアの, or only in the English translation. 競技者s' 指名するs have been redacted but enough 詳細(に述べる)s of their 競争の激しい 記録,記録的な/記録するs remain that it's possible to deduce many 身元s.

The writers certainly knew the 危険 if their emails were ever made public.

In November 2013, three months before the Olympics, Rodchenkov 問題/発行するd an order that ロシアの 公式の/役人s may wish he, too, had followed: "削除する all messages 緊急に!"
