US 職業 開始s remain at mostly healthy level in December
WASHINGTON (AP) ― The number of open 職業s was mostly 不変の in December from the previous month, leaving 開始s at a healthy level.
The Labor Department said Tuesday 職業 開始s were flat at 5.5 million in December. Total 雇うing rose わずかに to 5.25 million, while the number of people quitting fell.
The 人物／姿／数字s 示唆する that December was a mostly stable month for the 職業 market, with many 雇用者s かもしれない waiting until the new year to step up 雇うing.

Last week's 職業s 報告（する）／憶測 showed that 雇用者s stepped up 雇うing in January, 追加するing 227,000 職業s, the most in four months. The 失業率 ticked up to 4.8 パーセント from 4.7 パーセント, but the 増加する was mostly for a good 推論する／理由: More Americans began looking for work, but not all すぐに 設立する 職業s.
Last week's 職業s 人物／姿／数字 is a 逮捕する 伸び（る） after layoffs, やめるs and 退職s are subtracted from 全体にわたる 雇うing.
Tuesday's data comes from the 職業 開始s and Labor Turnover 調査する, or JOLTS, and are more 詳細（に述べる）d and 供給する a fuller 見解（をとる） of the 職業 market.
The number of 利用できる 職業s has risen 4.2 パーセント in the past year, while total 雇うing in the JOLTS 報告（する）／憶測 has 現実に fallen in the past 12 months.
That 示唆するs 商売／仕事s are having trouble finding the 労働者s they need to fill their open positions. Some companies, 含むing many 製造業者s, say that many 職業 applicants don't have the 技術s they need.
Many 経済学者s, however, argue that companies may have to 支払う／賃金 more to attract better applicants. They also may have to do more training of 見込みのある 従業員s.
The rising number of 開始s in the past 12 months could 軍隊 雇用者s to 申し込む／申し出 bigger paychecks. 普通の／平均（する） hourly 給料 rose at a healthy pace in December from the previous year, then slipped 支援する in January.
職業 開始s fell in construction, 財政上の services, restaurants and hotels and in 明言する／公表する and 地元の 政府. They rose in 製造業の and 小売 貿易（する）.
