"I am sorry you are here," Stephens told Hartsell, who stood to hear his 罰.

Freeman said Hartsell, while serving as his (選挙などの)運動をする 委員会's treasurer, "engaged in a pattern of deception in which he made 多重の disbursements from his (選挙などの)運動をする account to himself or to other (独立の)存在s for personal expenses."

His lawyer, Wade Smith, called it "the darkest moment in his life" but said the 結果 will not define him.
