McConnell's 焦点(を合わせる): finding 投票(する)s for 上院 health care 法案

WASHINGTON (AP) - 元気づけるd on by the White House, 大多数 Leader Mitch McConnell is 焦点(を合わせる)ing on finding the 投票(する)s he'll need to 押し進める the 共和国の/共和党の 計画(する) for 取り去る/解体するing 大統領 Barack Obama's health care 法律 through the 上院.

"No one knows the 上院 better that 上院議員 McConnell," White House 広報担当者 Sean Spicer said Friday on Fox News Channel's "America's Newsroom." He said along with support from 大統領 Donald Trump, "I think we're going to get this thing done, put it in 会議/協議会 and hopefully by the August 休会 really have Obamacare 廃止するd and 取って代わるd."

McConnell, R-Ky., 解放(する)d the 法案 Thursday after weeks of の近くにd-door 会合s searching for middle ground between 保守的な 上院議員s 捜し出すing an 積極的な 廃止する of Obama's 法令 and 中道派(の)s 警告 about going too far.

McConnell wants to 押し進める the 一括 through the 上院 next week, and will 後継する if he can 限界 defections to two of the 議会's 52 共和国の/共和党のs. Erasing Obama's 法律 has been a marquee 誓約(する) for Trump and 事実上 the entire party for years, and 失敗 would be a 粉々にするing 敗北・負かす for the GOP.

民主党員s were hoping to 脅す off as many 共和国の/共和党の 投票(する)s as possible by planning 成果/努力s around the country to 非難する the 手段. They say the GOP 計画(する) would mean より小数の people with ニュース報道 and higher costs for many.

House 少数,小数派 Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was 勧めるing 民主党員s to 地位,任命する stories on social マスコミ on 選挙権を持つ/選挙人s whose health care ニュース報道 would be 脅すd.

"No argument against Trumpcare is more eloquent than the 墓/厳粛/彫る/重大な consequences it means in people's lives," she wrote 同僚s.

The 法案 would 削減(する) and redesign the Medicaid program for low-income and 無能にするd people, and erase 税金s on higher earners and the 医療の 産業 that helped 支払う/賃金 for the 概略で 20 million Americans covered by Obama's 法律. It would let 保険会社s 供給する より小数の 利益s, 申し込む/申し出 いっそう少なく generous 補助金s than Obama to help people buy 政策s and end the 法令's 税金 刑罰,罰則s on people who don't buy 政策s and on larger 会社/堅いs that don't 申し込む/申し出 ニュース報道 to 労働者s.

すぐに after the 142-page 法案 was 分配するd, more than a half-dozen GOP 国会議員s signaled 関心s or 初期の 対立.

Four 保守的な 上院議員s 表明するd 対立 but 開いていること/寛大 to 会談: Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, ランド Paul of Kentucky, マイク 物陰/風下 of Utah and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. They said the 手段 行方不明になるd 配達するing a GOP 約束 to Americans "to 廃止する Obamacare and lower their health care costs."

In an interview with Fox News Channel, Trump was asked about the four 保守的なs …に反対するing the 法案. "井戸/弁護士席, they're also four good guys, four friends of 地雷, and I think that they'll probably get there," he said. "We'll have to see."

Sens. Dean Heller of Nevada, 直面するing a 競争の激しい 2018 re-選挙 戦う/戦い, 略奪する Portman of Ohio and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia 表明するd 関心s about the 法案's 削減(する)s to Medicaid and 麻薬 中毒 成果/努力s.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine 繰り返し言うd her 対立 to language 封鎖するing 連邦の money for Planned Parenthood, which many 共和国の/共和党のs …に反対する because it 供給するs abortions. The 法案 would also 妨げる/法廷,弁護士業 using 税金 credits to buy ニュース報道 that 含むs abortions.

McConnell, eager to 認可する the 法律制定 next week, 示すd he was open to changes before it reaches the 上院 床に打ち倒す, but he said it was time to 行為/法令/行動する.

The House 認可するd its 見解/翻訳/版 of the 法案 last month. Though Trump 称讃するd its passage in a Rose Garden 儀式, he called the House 手段 "mean" last week.

The nonpartisan 連邦議会の 予算 Office said that under the House 法案, 23 million より小数の people would have ニュース報道 by 2026. The 予算 office 分析 of the 上院 手段 is 推定する/予想するd 早期に next week.

The 上院 法案 would 段階 out extra money Obama's 法律 供給するs to 31 明言する/公表するs that agreed to 拡大する ニュース報道 under the 連邦の-明言する/公表する Medicaid program. Those 付加 基金s would continue through 2020, then 徐々に 落ちる and disappear 完全に in 2024.

The 手段 大部分は uses people's incomes as the 基準 for helping those without workp lace ニュース報道 to buy 私的な 保険. That would 焦点(を合わせる) the 援助(する) more on people with lower incomes than the House 法律制定, which bases its 補助金s on age.

The 法案 would let 明言する/公表するs get 権利放棄s to ignore some ニュース報道 必要物/必要条件s under Obama's 法律, such as 明確な/細部 health services 保険会社s must now cover.
