Extreme heat decimating 刈るs in parts of Europe

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) - 証拠 is piling up that this year's sizzling summer in central and southeastern Europe has decimated 刈るs, drained rivers and 傷つける the animal world.

As the 干ばつ's costs become clearer, 気温s in Serbia, Romania, Hungary and Croatia 急に上がるd to nearly 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) again on Thursday に引き続いて a few days of moderately いっそう少なく oppressive heat.

The 地域 is 耐えるing one of the hottest and driest summers in years, during which several people have died and dozens of wildfires have ゆらめくd. The 干ばつ has also ratcheted up 需要・要求する for water and electricity.

Serbia has been one of the hardest 攻撃する,衝突する countries, with 専門家s 説 an 概算の 60 パーセント of corn 刈るs destroyed. The 省 of 生態学 also says water levels across the country have dropped 徹底的に, 脅すing fish 在庫/株s.

"This is really sad!" said 農業者 Pavel Tordaj from the northern Serbian village of Padina, while showing withered corn and scorched sunflower on his land.

Tordaj said nearly all his corn, and half of his sunflowers have been destroyed by the 干ばつ, 追加するing that it will be very hard for the 農業者s to (不足などを)補う for the loss.

"Who will 支払う/賃金 for that?" he asked. "We took 貸付金s from the bank."

Corn accounts for around one million ヘクタールs (2.4 million acres) of Serbia's 農地, which is 広範囲にわたって perceived as having a poor watering system.

In the Czech 共和国, 当局 said 農地s in the southeast of the country have been most 影響する/感情d まっただ中に 予測s that the corn 収穫 could 落ちる by more than 50 パーセント.
