政治家s pray for peace at 国境; some see anti-イスラム教徒 協議事項
GDANSK, Poland (AP) - ポーランドの（人） カトリック教徒s held rosaries and prayed together Saturday along the country's 3,500-キロメーター (2,000-mile) 国境, 控訴，上告ing to the Virgin Mary and God for 救済 for Poland and the world in a 国家の event that many felt had anti-Islam overtones.
The unusual "Rosary on the 国境s" event was 組織するd by lay カトリック教徒s but was also 是認するd by ポーランドの（人） church 当局, with 320 churches from 22 dioceses taking part. The 祈りs took place from the Baltic Sea coast in the north to the mountains along Poland's southern 国境s with the Czech 共和国 and Slovakia, and all along the 国境 of this country of 38 million where more than 90 パーセント 宣言する themselves Roman カトリック教徒s.
組織者s say the 祈りs at some 4,000 場所s 祝う／追悼するd the centenary of the apparitions of Fatima, when three shepherd children in Portugal said the Virgin Mary appeared to them.

But the event also 祝う／追悼するd the 抱擁する 16th-century 海軍の 戦う／戦い of Lepanto, when a Christian 同盟 事実上の／代理 on the wishes of the ローマ法王 敗北・負かすd Ottoman Empire 軍隊s on the Ionian Sea, "thus saving Europe from Islamization," as 組織者s put it.
While 組織者s 主張するd the 祈りs Saturday were not directed against any group, some 関係者s 特記する／引用するd 恐れるs of Islam の中で their 推論する／理由s for praying at the 国境.
Halina Kotarska, 65, traveled 230 キロメーターs (145 miles) from her home in Kwieciszewo, central Poland, to 表明する 感謝 after her 29-year-old son Slawomir 生き残るd a serious car 難破させる this year. She 述べるd it as a 奇蹟 成し遂げるd by St. Mary.
She said she was also praying for the 生き残り of Christianity in Poland and Europe against what she sees as an Islamic 脅し 直面するing the West.
"Islam wants to destroy Europe," she said. "They want to turn us away from Christianity."

"It's a really serious thing for us," said Basia Sibinska, who traveled with her daughter Kasia from Kalisz in central Poland. "Rosaries to the 国境 means that we want to pray for our country. That was a main 動機 for us to come here. We want to pray for peace, we want to pray for our safety. Of course, everyone comes here with a different 動機づけ.
