Going, going ... Indians 除去するing Wahoo logo from uniforms
CLEVELAND (AP) - A smiling 思い出の品 of lazy summer days. An ugly depiction of 人種差別主義.
Beloved by some, reviled by others.
長，指導者 Wahoo - the grinning, wide-注目する，もくろむd, feather-wearing logo that has divided baseball fans and even families in Cleveland - is 存在 投げ上げる／ボディチェックするd from the game.

Major League Baseball 発表するd Monday that starting in the 2019 season, the Indians will no longer have the polarizing Wahoo logo - used by the club since 1947 - on their jersey sleeves or caps.
に引き続いて discussions over the past year between Commissioner 略奪する Manfred and team owner Paul Dolan, the 味方するs agreed that the cartoonish caricature is "no longer appropriate for on-field use."
It's 存在 拍手喝采する as a 重要な step by some Native American groups, who hope the move 押し進めるs other major league franchises, like the NFL's Washington Redskins, to 廃止する logos or change 愛称s みなすd 不快な／攻撃.
"It's a step in the 権利 direction," said Philip Yenyo, (n)役員／(a)執行力のある director of the American Indian Movement of Ohio.
While Yenyo was elated when the AP 知らせるd him of Wahoo's 減らすing status, he also 表明するd 深い 失望 that the Indians will continue to wear the logo during the 近づいている season and sell 商品／売買する featuring the big-toothed emblem.
"I don't understand why they're 製図／抽選 this out," Yenyo said. "It doesn't make any sense to me, unless they want to continue to make what's 基本的に 血 money. Just make the leap already."
It may be more 複雑にするd than that in Cleveland. Although the club won't 認める it 公然と, there were 財政上の 推論する／理由s to consider in banning Wahoo. The team will still 利益（をあげる） from its use by selling caps, T-shirts and others 製品s featuring Wahoo in the Cleveland area.
By 持続するing the trademark, the Indians will keep 支配（する）／統制する of the logo and its usage. If they 降伏するd the trademark, another party could use Wahoo anyway it wished.
Manfred said the impetus to 除去する Wahoo （機の）カム from MLB's かかわり合い to "building a culture of 多様制 and 傾向 throughout the game." The Commissioner had been ur ging the Indians to 減少（する） the logo since 2016, when the club made its first World Series in 19 years and the 国家の スポットライト その上の illuminated an already touchy 支配する.

That wasn't enough for some Native American groups who believed the logo and 愛称 減らすd them as people.
Yenyo believes changing the 愛称 is the only thing that will alter the 行為 of some fans who may not realize how much their 活動／戦闘s 傷つける others.
"If they don't get rid of the 指名する, then you're still going to have fans going 負かす／撃墜する there wearing headdresses and painted in red 直面する," he said.
There was no 即座の reaction from Indians players to MLB's 決定／判定勝ち（する）.
However, Cleveland fans were quick to 答える／応じる on social マスコミ, 重さを計るing in on a topic that has become engrained in the Cleveland sports lexicon for １０年間s.

"長，指導者 Wahoo has been so iconic for so many years, and I understand that some people may be 感情を害する／違反するd, but it's a blow to native Clevelanders."

Cleveland's players may no longer be adorned with the logo in '19, but it will remain 目だつ in the stands as fans won't be 否定するd for wearing caps and T-shits or bringing 調印するs 支援 the 悪名高い 長，指導者 into the ballpark.
And to some, that's a 調印する of the times.
"That's the way it is, I guess," said パン職人, wearing one of the team's blue caps with a red 'C'. "I know people get 感情を害する／違反するd about just about everything nowadays. It's disappointing."
Change was 必然的な, and it finally happened as the Indians 近づく the start of a new season - the last one with 長，指導者 Wahoo on the field.
