Review: Evan Smoak returns in Gregg Hurwitz's 'Hellbent'

Evan Smoak is known by many 偽名，通称s, 含むing 孤児 X and the Nowhere Man. In "Hellbent," the 最新の novel by Gregg Hurwitz featuring the former 政府 暗殺者 turned vigilante, a call for help quickly turns personal.
When Smoak receives a phone call from a particular number, he knows the person on the other end needs his help. He's shocked to receive a ビデオ message from Jack Johns, his 助言者 and the man who 新採用するd him into the エリート 孤児 program. He watches as Johns, a man he 心にいだくs almost like a father, is 残酷に thrown out of an airplane in 空中. Smoak retrieves a 一括 that Johns left for him and is 残酷に attacked by a teenage girl. She has エリート 技術s that show Smoak that she had also been trained by Johns. It soon 夜明けs on him that the 一括 is this young girl and he has to 保護する her from the 殺し屋s の近くにing in on both of them.
Hurwitz is a terrific thriller writer, and with this series he gets better with each 分割払い. まっただ中に the mayhem, he （手先の）技術s a tender tale of what it truly means to be a parent and the importance of family. He also has a knack for moments of sheer fun and humor mixed with the 活動／戦闘, making the characters believable.
