PARIS (AP) - Six years after the "Horsegate" スキャンダル broke, four people went on 裁判,公判 in Paris on Monday over an (a)手の込んだ/(v)詳述する 申し立てられた/疑わしい 計画/陰謀 that fed 消費者s across Europe frozen foods 含む/封じ込めるing cheap horse meat fraudulently labeled as pricier beef.

The 被告s at the 裁判,公判, which is 推定する/予想するd to last three weeks, 含むd two former (n)役員/(a)執行力のあるs of French company Spanghero, (刑事)被告 of さまざまな 詐欺 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s, and two Dutch meat 仲買人s.

The French (n)役員/(a)執行力のあるs - former Spanghero director Jacques Poujol and an ex-工場/植物 director Patrice Monguillon - are (刑事)被告 of selling more than 538 トンs of horse meat mislabeled as beef to Tavola, a 子会社 of Comigel, a French company whose frozen meals were sold to companies across Europe.

They are also (刑事)被告 of lying about the meat's origins, which was advertised as French meat but (機の)カム from Romania, Belgium or Canada.

Both 否定するd intentional 悪事を働くこと. They are 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑うd of setting up the 計画/陰謀, which ran between January 2012 and February 2013, with the complicity of the 仲買人s, Hendricus Windmeijer and Johannes Fasen.

The four have been 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金d with 共謀 to defraud (弁護士の)依頼人s and 消費者s and could 直面する up to 10 years in 刑務所,拘置所.

Windmeije, Poujol and Monguillon were 現在の at the Paris courthouse on Monday but Fasen did not show up.
