Wizards' John 塀で囲む needs Achilles 外科; out another year
WASHINGTON (AP) - Already done for this season after one 操作／手術, Washington Wizards point guard John 塀で囲む now will 行方不明になる most - if not all - of next season, too, because he needs 外科 on his left Achilles tendon, which he tore in a 落ちる at home.
Wizards team doctor Wiemi Douoguih said Tuesday in a 会議／協議会 call with reporters that he discovered the 部分的な／不平等な 決裂 of the tendon during a 手続き done Monday to 演説（する）／住所 an 感染 from the 操作／手術 on 塀で囲む's left heel on Jan. 8.
The 28-year-old 塀で囲む's Achilles 外科 has not been scheduled yet. Douoguih said it probably will be next week.
塀で囲む, whose game is built around his 速度(を上げる） and ability to 運動 to the basket, is 推定する／予想するd to be able to return to what the team called "十分な basketball activities" about a year after that 操作／手術. Douoguih 概算の the 回復 範囲 for 塀で囲む's 傷害, "at John's age," to be from 11 to 15 months.
There is no way to know what sort of player 塀で囲む will be when he returns, Douoguih said.
"Unfortunately," he 追加するd, "we don't have a lot of data on エリート NBA point guards with tendon 決裂s."

Douoguih said 塀で囲む was not wearing his walking boot - which is 承認する while at home - when he slipped and 宙返り／暴落するd on Jan. 29.
"He never heard a pop," Douoguih said. "He had a slight 増加する in 不快."
So the Achilles problem wasn't known until Monday.
塀で囲む was the No. 1 全体にわたる 選ぶ in the 2010 NBA 草案 out of Kentucky and was an All-星／主役にする each of the past five seasons. But a 一連の 傷害s will have robbed him of much of what usually are a player's prime years.
He appeared in only 32 games this season, 普通の／平均（する）ing 20.7 points and 8.7 補助装置s. Last season, when he had an 操作／手術 on his left 膝, 塀で囲む played in 41 of Washington's 82 games. He also had 外科 on both 膝s before the 2016-17 season.
The Wizards have tried to build a roster around him, and 塀で囲む's $170 million, four-year 契約 拡張 kicks in next season.
The news might change the way the club approaches Thursday's 貿易（する） 最終期限, because while this season was 基本的に a throwaway after 傷害s to 塀で囲む, Dwight Howard and Markieff Morris, the 不確定 surrounding the point guard for next season makes the franchise's 未来 even harder to 査定する／（税金などを）課す.
After a 137-129 loss at home against the last-place Atlanta 強硬派s on Monday night, the Wizards are 22-31 and tied for 10th in the Eastern 会議／協議会.
Washington plays at the East-主要な Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
