O'Rourke （選挙などの）運動をするs with wife, looks to 上げる 女性（の） support

OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) - Beto O'Rourke つまずくd with women from the start, featuring his wife sitting silently in his 大統領の （選挙などの）運動をする 開始する，打ち上げる ビデオ and joking 繰り返して about 存在 a part-time parent.

But with his （選挙などの）運動をする at 危険 of 立ち往生させるing, O'Rourke is 試みる／企てるing to 改善する his standing with 女性（の） 投票者s. And on Friday in Iowa, his wife, Amy, joined him on the （選挙などの）運動をする 追跡する, 小旅行するing a farm with him, introducing herself at a town hall and taking pictures with 投票者s after events.

Her presence will be an important 実験（する） of whether O'Rourke can 逆転する his いっそう少なく-than-都合のよい first impressions with women. It's an unusual position for a 候補者 whose 控訴，上告 with women helped make him a 国家の political 現象 while nearly upsetting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz last 落ちる. O'Rourke later told reporters he wants his wife to see the "excitement" in Iowa for herself, and to introduce herself.

"I know folks are curious about Amy and why she 手配中の，お尋ね者 to run this race with me, and for this country, and I think no one's better able to speak for her than Amy herself," he said.

Amy O'Rourke told the （人が）群がる at the next event, a town hall in Ottumwa, that it was an "amazing" experience to join her husband on the 追跡する during his 上院 race and that she was excited to do it again in Iowa.

"We're better when Amy 会談. We're better when she's talking, be it in a ビデオ, on 行う／開催する／段階 or in Beto's ear," said Kim Olson, a friend of the O'Rourkes who （選挙などの）運動をするd unsuccessfully for Texas 農業 commissioner last year and is now running for 議会 in a 地区 between Fort 価値（がある） and Dallas.

Winning over women will be 決定的な to success in Iowa. Women made up a 大多数 of Iowa 投票者s who supported Democratic House 候補者s, によれば AP VoteCast, a 調査する of 投票者s from the 2018 midterms, and they typically turn out in stronger numbers than men for the （政党の）幹部会，党集会s, which begin the 大統領の 指名するing 過程.
