Djokovic 激突する run ends at French; Thiem vs. Nadal in final
PARIS (AP) - Novak Djokovic's 26-match Grand 激突する winning streak ended in the French Open 準決勝 because he made some 半端物 戦略の choices, because the wild 天候 bothered him, because the 議長，司会を務める umpire got under his 肌.
Mostly, though, because Dominic Thiem managed to outperform Djokovic at his own brand of 弁護-to-罪／違反, 速度(を上げる）-and-力／強力にする baseline game.
Thiem put an end to the No. 1-階級d Djokovic's 企て，努力，提案 for a fourth 連続した major 選手権 Saturday with a 劇の 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 victory in a 勝利，勝つd-whipped and rain-interrupted match that spanned more than four hours over two days.
"I don't want to point out some 推論する／理由s or find excuses for this loss," said Djokovic, who had won nine of his past 10 five-setters and was 29-9 全体にわたる in such matches. "I mean, he took it, he won it, and 井戸／弁護士席 done to him."
It wasn't 平易な. Shouldn't be against Djokovic, who kept digging 穴を開けるs for himself and climbing out.
Thiem wasted two match points with quick unforced errors when serving for the victory at 5-3 in the fifth, but he made his third chance count, smacking a forehand 勝利者 to break Djokovic in the last game.

"An epic match. I mean, so many ups and 負かす／撃墜するs. And rain, going 支援する to the locker, on 法廷，裁判所 again. Somehow I had the feeling that I had the lead in the whole match, and then at the end, it got so 堅い," Thiem said. "Both of us, we could 勝利，勝つ, and I luckily got the better in the end."
Djokovic was stopped two victories short of collecting his fourth 連続した major 選手権, a run that began on the grass at Wimbledon last July, then continued on the hard 法廷，裁判所s of the U.S. Open and Australian Open.
Instead, it is Thiem, an Austrian 階級d No. 4, who now gets a chance to 勝利，勝つ his first Grand 激突する トロフィー on the red clay of Roland Garros.
Thiem will 直面する 11-time French Open 支持する／優勝者 Rafael Nadal on Sunday in a rematch of last year's final. Nadal won that one, part of an 8-4 lead for the Spaniard in their 長，率いる-to-長，率いる series.
"All the time, if someone reaches the 決勝戦 here, it's against Rafa," Thiem said with a laugh.
