No no-no: Lamet takes 企て，努力，提案 into 7th, Padres 減少（する） 水夫s 9-4
SEATTLE (AP) - The San Diego Padres fell short of history and their first no-hitter - again. What they learned about starter Dinelson Lamet might just （不足などを）補う for it.
Just a month after coming off the 傷害 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） from Tommy John 外科, Lamet took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and matched his career high with 12 strikeouts in a 9-4 victory over the struggling Seattle 水夫s on Tuesday night.
It was Lamet's first 勝利，勝つ in nearly two years.
"I'm happy about it," Lamet said through a 翻訳家. "I think it's not even just (the no-攻撃する，衝突する 成果／努力). I think it was the way I was able to get that 勝利，勝つ. It makes me proud."
Omar Narvaez lined a 選び出す／独身 into 権利 field with one out in the seventh to break up Lamet's 企て，努力，提案. The Padres, who began play in 1969, are still looking for that elusive first no-hitter.
The 水夫s, 一方／合間, 避けるd becoming the first club in the majors to be held hitless three times in a season. A pair of Los Angeles Angels 投手s teamed on a no-hitter against Seattle on July 12 and the Houston Astros 連合させるd to no-攻撃する，衝突する the 水夫s last Saturday.

Lamet (1-2) gave up two 攻撃する，衝突するs in seven shutout innings - at one point retiring 13 straight - for his first 勝利，勝つ since 2017. 予定するd to be San Diego's No. 2 starter last year after a 約束ing 新人 season, Lamet 傷つける his 肘 in his final spring training start and then had Tommy John 外科.
The 27-year-old righty （機の）カム off the 負傷させるd 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） and 再結合させるd the Padres last month. He's been struggling with his 命令（する）, even into the first three innings of Tuesday's game when he walked four 乱打するs. But after walking Keon Broxton to start the third, he struck out three straight 乱打するs to get out of the inning.
経営者／支配人 Andy Green said he was one pitch away from calling the bullpen three times, but ended up giving Lamet extra time in the seventh when he was creeping up on 100 pitches because of the way he was attacking the 水夫s.
"I think he's 傾向ing 上向きs," Green said. "The 意図 on the pitches for the second half of that game was as good as he's been at any point in time. I thought the fastball had real finish to it. There was real attack to him."
新人 Fernando Tatis Jr. 攻撃する，衝突する his 20th ホームラン as the Padres sent Seattle to its fifth straight loss. Tatis became just the 10th 新人 to 攻撃する，衝突する 20 ホームランs as a shortstop.
"I think we've been spoiled by him," Green said. "He's 有能な of a lot of things. There's just a few guys in the game who look like they're going to bunt on one pitch and then the very next pitch 攻撃する，衝突する it out of the ballpark. He's just 有能な of some special things on the field."
While his ホームラン into the second deck was beautiful to watch, he returned in the ninth with an 注目する，もくろむ-popping sprint from first to third on a wild pitch that really turned 長，率いるs.
"I told him he should've 得点する／非難する／２０d on the wild pitch," Green joked.
Tatis 追加するd: "Every 選び出す／独身 day, if I'm not bringing that, I tell people to get on my ass, give me a wake-up call or something. That should be part of my game every day."
With a 開始するing pitch count, Lamet took a 5-0 lead into the seventh and struck out Daniel Vogelbach to begin the inning. After Vogelbach was 排除する／（飛行機などから）緊急脱出するd for arguing, Narvaez lined the first pitch into 権利 field. Kyle Seager followed with a 二塁打 to the left corner.
Lamet escaped by getting Austin Nola on a popup and fanning Dylan Moore to tie his career strikeout high.
The 水夫s 決起大会／結集させるd for four runs off the bullpen in the eighth inning, spurred by Tim Lopes' two-run ホームラン, his first major league 攻撃する，衝突する. Lopes entered the 顔触れ for Vogelbach after 存在 解任するd from the seven-day concussion 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）.
"I 港／避難所't 攻撃する，衝突する many ホームランs in the past so that was definitely special for me," Lopes said. "I couldn't have prayed for anything more than that."
OUTFIELD OPPORTUNITY
Lopes received an 利益／興味ing assignment on his first day 支援する from the concussion 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）. The lifelong infielder was scheduled to shag balls in the 外野 during batting practice after the 80-game 中断 of Tim Beckham and ぐずぐず残る 傷害s to Domingo Santana and Mitch Haniger.
"He （機の）カム into my office today and his 注目する，もくろむs got real big," 経営者／支配人 Scott Servais said. "I said, 'Dude, that's the way to get in the 顔触れ.'"
Lopes said he was happy to try on an outfielder's glove.
"It's something I'm very open to and want to 追加する to my game," he said. "It's something they believe I can do, so I'm definitely happy to do that."
In other moves, the 水夫s also 復帰させるd reliever Brandon Brennan (権利 shoulder 緊張する) from the 10-day 負傷させるd 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） and sent reliever Gerson Bautista to ３倍になる-A Tacoma to make room.
TRAINER'S ROOM
