Latino actors, writers pen 'letter of 団結' まっただ中に 恐れるs
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Actresses America Ferrera and Eva Longoria are 主要な a group of more than 150 writers, artists and leaders who have written a public "letter of 団結" to U.S. Latinos after the 集まり 狙撃 in El Paso, Texas, and an 移民／移住 （警察の）手入れ，急襲 in Mississippi.
The letter, published Friday in The New York Times and in a handful of Spanish-language newspapers, says the signers stand with U.S. Latinos who may feel "terrified, heartbroken and 敗北・負かすd by the 一斉射撃，（質問などの）連発／ダム of attacks," 特記する／引用するing the 狙撃 in El Paso, which 的d Hispanics, and another 狙撃 in Gilroy, California. The two attacks killed nearly two dozen Latinos.

"We have been smeared by political rhetoric and 殺人d in violent hate 罪，犯罪s. We have been separated from our families and have watched our children caged," the letter said. "But, we will not be broken. We will not be silenced."
The letter says such "侮辱／冷遇s and cruelty" won't 減らす the 出資／貢献s Latinos have made to the U.S., and it 勧めるd Hispanics to keep standing up to bigotry.
調印 the letter were some of the most important Latino 人物／姿／数字s in entertainment, art, literature and activism, 含むing 小説家 Sandra Cisneros, 学院 Award-winning actress Rita Moreno, civil 権利s leader Dolores Huerta, singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and Tony Award-winning 作曲家 Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The 暴力／激しさ has some Hispanics looking over their shoulders, 避けるing speaking Spanish in public, and 捜し出すing out escape 大勝するs まっただ中に 恐れるs they could be next.
The 狙撃s and the （警察の）手入れ，急襲 come against a 背景 of 人種差別主義者 episodes that 含む then-候補者 Donald Trump referring to Mexican 移民，移住（する）s as "rapists"; Trump, as 大統領，／社長, referring to migrants coming to the U.S. as "an 侵略"; and viral ビデオs of white people c hastising Hispanics for speaking Spanish in public.
Longoria told The Associated 圧力（をかける） that she and Ferrera got the idea for the letter after they talked and 設立する out they were both depressed and sad after the El Paso 狙撃.
"Once we started talking to other people, we 設立する out others were feeling the same way," Longoria said. "Instead of us all 苦しむing alone we 手配中の，お尋ね者 to 部隊 and tell our community that is going through all of this ... we are with you and we will fight for you."
Longoria said the letter is not meant to take political 味方するs but to reach out to Americans 関わりなく party to say Latinos are 傷つけるing.
Ferrera told The AP that Latinos have been 支配するd to a number of 人種差別主義者 attacks recently, but the El Paso 狙撃 and the Mississippi （警察の）手入れ，急襲 were "just soul-鎮圧するing" for some.
"We 手配中の，お尋ね者 to do something to let people know we aren't going to 嘘（をつく） 負かす／撃墜する and take it," America said. "We are going to stand up and fight." ?
M?nica 押し通す?rez, a civil 権利s lawyer and 行動主義者 who helped 組織する the letter, called it a "letter of love" and hopes it changes some hearts.
"We also 手配中の，お尋ね者 to make sure that people understand that our community is powerful and we have many 同盟（する）s," 押し通す?rez said. "We don't want other groups to be 的d."
