Country's largest 部族の nation 捜し出すs congressional 委任する／代表
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The newly elected 長，指導者 of the Oklahoma-based Cherokee Nation 計画（する）s to 任命する the tribe's first-ever 委任する／代表 to the U.S. 衆議院, which is 輪郭（を描く）d in a nearly 200-year-old 条約 with the 連邦の 政府.
In a letter Thursday to the （衆議院の）議長 of the Cherokee Nation 部族の 会議, 主要な／長／主犯 長，指導者 Chuck Hoskin Jr. requested a special 会合 of the 会議 later this month to consider 確認するing Kimberly Teehee, a former 助言者 to 大統領 Barack Obama, to the position. The Associated 圧力（をかける） 得るd a copy of the letter on Friday.
Hoskin, the tribe's former 長官 of 明言する／公表する, was elected leader of the 370,000-国民 tribe, the country's largest, in June with almost 58% of the 投票（する）.

"At Cherokee Nation, we are 演習ing our 条約 権利s and 強化するing our 主権，独立," Hoskin said. "The 告示 next week is 簡単に the first step in a long 過程, having a Cherokee Nation 国民 seated as a member of the U.S. 衆議院. We are eager to work with our congressional 代表 from Oklahoma to move this historic 任命 今後."

A 国民 of the Cherokee Nation, Teehe e was tapped by Obama in 2009 as a 上級の 政策 助言者 for Native American 事件／事情／状勢s. She 現在／一般に is the tribe's 副／悪徳行為 大統領，／社長 of 政府 relations.
