Dog and goat 争う for 名誉として与えられる 市長 of Vermont town
FAIR HAVEN, Vt, (AP) - It's Lincoln the goat versus Sammy the dog in the race for 名誉として与えられる 市長 of one Vermont town.
The Nubian goat had won the 地位，任命する in Fair 港／避難所, Vermont, last year after the town 経営者／支配人 （機の）カム up with the pet 市長 選挙 to raise money to rehabilitate a community playground and to get kids civically 伴う／関わるd.
"In Fair 港／避難所, just like everywhere else, 投票者 参加 is not always as high as we want it," said Town 経営者／支配人 Joe Gunter.
居住（者） Cheryl Daviau said the race has gotten children 伴う／関わるd in the 選挙 過程. Her granddaughter got her picture taken with the goat 市長 and loved it, she said.
To up the 賭け金, this year the police 長，指導者 指名するd K-9 Sammy, a German Shepherd, who visits 地元の schools daily with a 資源 officer, …に出席するs concerts in the park and is beloved around town.
The town 発表するd the goat would run again after police debuted Sammy's （選挙などの）運動をする.

Both Lincoln and Sammy are popular so it could be a tight race.
"We're definitely look more 今後 to Sammy winning the race," said Sharai Thayer, who ha s three kids in school. The friendly canine sits at the school when the kids are going in and out and even goes through the halls, she said.
A driver who was stopped for 査察 違反 on Friday told the police 長，指導者 that he was 投票（する）ing for the dog.
The 選挙 is on March 3. People 支払う／賃金 $1 to 投票（する） and a GoFundMe page has been 始める，決める up to raise more 基金s for the playground. Last year, $200 was raised from the race, によれば Gunter. 連合させるd with other 寄付s the town has about $10,000 of the $80,000 needed for the playground, he said.
