Saudi 公式の／役人s 発表する Yemen 停戦 まっただ中に pandemic
CAIRO (AP) - The Saudi-led 連合 fighting the Iranian-支援するd Houthi 反逆者／反逆するs in Yemen 発表するd Wednesday that its 軍隊s would begin a 停戦 starting Thursday, a step that could 可能にする the first direct peace 会談 between the two 味方するs that have been at war for more than five years.
In a 声明 carried by Saudi Arabia's 公式の／役人 明言する／公表する news 機関, a Saudi 軍の 広報担当者, Col. Turki al-Malki, said that the 停戦 would last two weeks and that it comes in 返答 to U.N. calls to 停止（させる） 敵意s まっただ中に the coronavirus pandemic. He said the 停戦 could be 延長するd to 可能にする all the parties "to discuss 提案s, steps, and 機械装置s for 維持できる 停戦 in Yemen ... for a 包括的な political 解答 in Yemen."
There was no 即座の reaction from Houthi leaders or Yemen's 国祭的な 認めるd 政府 to the 連合's 声明.
Within hours of the 告示, 居住（者）s in the contested Yemeni 州 Marib said a 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑うd Houthi ミサイル struck a 安全 building in the city 中心. There was no 即座の （人命などを）奪う，主張する of 責任／義務 or 報告（する）／憶測s of 死傷者s. A Yemeni presiderntial 助言者, Abdel-Malek al-Mekhlafi, 非難するd the Houthis, 説 on Twitter that the attack shows the 反逆者／反逆するs "are 燃料ing war not peace."
U.N. 長官-General Antonio Guterres, who called for a 停戦 in all 全世界の 衝突s on March 23 to 取り組む the ウイルス and 特に called two days later for a 停止 in Yemen, welcomed the 告示, 説: "This can help to 前進する 成果／努力s に向かって peace 同様に as the country´s 返答 to the COVID-19 pandemic."

"Only through 対話 will the parties be able to agree on a 機械装置 for 支えるing a nation-wide 停戦, 人道的な and 経済的な 信用／信任-building 対策 to 緩和する the 苦しむing of the Yemeni people, and the 再開 of the political 過程 to reach a 包括的な 解決／入植地 to end the 衝突," Guterres said in a 声明.
Guterres said earlier this month that warring parties in 11 countries had 答える／応じるd 前向きに／確かに to his 控訴，上告 for a 全世界の 停戦 to 取り組む the ウイルス. Guterres said then that the world 直面するs "a ありふれた enemy - COVID-19," which doesn´t care "about 国籍 or ethnicity, 派閥 or 約束."

Iran, which 支援するs the Houthis, is also 直面するing challenges at home. As the worst-攻撃する，衝突する country in the Middle East, it has 67,286 確認するd COVID-19 事例／患者s and 3,993 deaths.
Al-Malki, the 連合 広報担当者, said the 停戦 was 目的（とする）d at "building 信用／信任" between the two warring parties and to support the 国際連合-led 率先 to end the war.
Yemen, the Arab world´s poorest nation, has been convulsed by civil war since 2014. That is when the Iranian-支援するd Houthis took 支配（する）／統制する of the country´s north, 含むing the 資本／首都 of Sanaa. The Saudi-led 軍の 連合 介入するd against the Houthis the に引き続いて year, 行為／行うing relentless airstrikes and a 封鎖 of Yemen.
