サッカー commentator 軍隊d to call German games from London

LONDON (AP) - The 再開 of the German サッカー league has put players 支援する on the field, coaches 支援する on the sideline, and commentators 支援する in the booth.

The booth, however, could be just about anywhere.

Dan O´Hagan is a 退役軍人 サッカー commentator who has called games at the World Cup, in the English 首相 League, the Italian league, and even the Japanese league, の中で many others. He also does Bundesliga matches in English, but on Saturday he was working from a small studio in north London because of 制限s on travel during the coronavirus pandemic.

"普通は we´d be in Cologne doing these games, in Germany," O'Hagan said from the studio in the same building that houses The Associated 圧力(をかける). "明白に that now is not possible, but doing games from studios for most commentators now, it´s almost second nature. So that doesn´t really 現在の a new challenge."

The big challenge 現実に (機の)カム last week, when Germany became the first country to 再開する a major サッカー league まっただ中に the pandemic, albeit in empty stadiums and with social distancing 議定書s in place.

It wasn't just the players that were out of practice.

"I think (it was) eight weeks without working," O'Hagan said, "so I was a bit worried that I might be a bit rusty."

One of the most important elements for O'Hagan during the 再開 has been keeping the 権利 balance between サッカー and the deadly 影響s of the ウイルス around the world.

Germany seems to have 扱うd the pandemic better than many other big countries, but it still has 報告(する)/憶測d more than 8,000 deaths.

"We want to 攻撃する,衝突する the 権利 トン because it´s a very serious 全世界の 状況/情勢, so we want to make sure that our ニュース報道 反映するs respectfully both the トン and also the 対策 in place from the German football league to 確実にする the games are played 安全に," O'Hagan said.

"The German game has done all it can to get the games on so we feel a 責任/義務 to portray the league in a light that shows these 成果/努力s."

The remote commentators don't have any 支配(する)/統制する over the pictures that they ha ve to talk over, but that is normal when calling games from a studio, O'Hagan said.

The weird 面 of these particular games, though, is the empty stadiums.

"承認する, there´s no fans there, but the pictures are still the pictures we´d get anyway ーに関して/ーの点でs of angles, ーに関して/ーの点でs of number of cameras, and closeups," O'Hagan said. "So there´s no 広大な/多数の/重要な difference in calling the game here or in Cologne or in the stadium."
