DUBAI, 部隊d Arab 首長国s (AP) - 成果／努力s by the 部隊d Arab 首長国s to fight the coronavirus have 新たにするd questions about 集まり 監視 in this U.S.-連合した 連合 of seven sheikhdoms.
専門家s believe the UAE has one of the highest per capita 集中s of 監視 cameras in the world. From the streets of the 資本／首都 of Abu Dhabi to the tourist attractions of 超高層ビル-studded Dubai, the cameras keep 跡をつける of the license plates and 直面するs of those passing by them.

"There is no 保護 of civil liberties because there are no civil liberties," said Jodi Vittori, a nonresident scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace who 熟考する／考慮するs the UAE.

A １０年間 ago, Dubai 証明するd those cameras could be quickly used. After the Jan . 19, 2010 暗殺 of Hamas 指揮官 Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at a Dubai hotel, police quickly pieced together the some three-dozen 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑うd Israeli Mossad operatives who carried out the 殺人，大当り. They later showed ビデオ beginning from the operatives' arrival at the airport to their 追跡するing of al-Mabhouh while dressed as tennis players.

In May, Dubai police Brig. Khalid al-Razooqi said the "Oyoon" system would begin checking 気温s of those passing by, 同様に as making sure people 持続する a social distance of 2 メーターs (6 feet) from each other.
Outside of "Oyoon" cameras, Dubai police also are 実験ing with thermal helmet cameras for officers to check passers-by's 気温s. 商店街s and other 商売／仕事 have 器具／実施するd a variety of thermal image scanners. At Dubai International Airport, for instance, those coming in walk p ast a thermal scanner that also checks people for masks. Dubai's Silicon Oasis 近隣 類似して has been 跡をつけるing passers-by with cameras.
類似の 科学（工学）技術 has been used at the 商店街 of the 首長国s, run by the 私的な 会社／堅い Majid Al Futtaim. Companies building いわゆる "disinfection gates," which 霧 化学製品s on people, 類似して use thermal cameras that also can 記録，記録的な／記録する and upload their data.
Nothing 妨げるs these 付加 cameras and their data from 存在 fed into wider facial 承認 databases in the city-明言する／公表する. The UAE already has such a database from its 国家の ID card system, which 居住（者）s use for 急速な／放蕩な 移民／移住 通関手続き／一掃 at Dubai International Airport.
一方／合間, the UAE's 資本／首都 Abu Dhabi is believed to have its own 広範囲にわたる 安全 camera system. Other 首長国s 同様に have touted their camera 網状組織s, with the 首長国 of Ras al-Khaimah 発表するing in February it 任命する／導入するd over 140,000 cameras itself.
This comes as the UAE 禁止（する）s 政党s, labor unions and strikes by its foreign 労働者s - all while 祝う／追悼するing 2019 as its "Year of 寛容." 法律s in the 首長国s also give 当局 幅の広い latitude to punish people's speech, while docile 地元の マスコミ remain 大部分は 明言する／公表する-owned or 政府-linked.
"Dozens of 行動主義者s, civil society leaders, academics and students remained 拘留するd during 2019 as part of the broader 厳重取締," the Washington-based advocacy group Freedom House said in its 最近の 年次の 報告（する）／憶測 on the UAE. "The political system 認めるs the 首長国s´ hereditary 支配者s a monopoly on 力／強力にする and 除外するs the 可能性 of a change in 政府 through 選挙s."
Many of the cameras and thermal scanners used by the UAE come from 中国. A Chinese 会社／堅い also 発表するd a 取引，協定 for coronavirus ワクチン 裁判，公判s in Abu Dhabi, a 取引，協定 it struck that 含むd Group 42, a new Abu Dhabi 会社／堅い that 述べるs itself as an 人工的な 知能 and cloud-計算するing company. Also known as G42, the company´s CEO is Peng Xiao, who fo r years ran Pegasus, the DarkMatter "big data" ソフトウェア.
G42 has partnered with Israeli 会社／堅いs over the coronavirus. It also partnered with 中国 ーするために 扱う the UAE´s 集まり coronavirus 実験（する）ing program. U.S. 大使館 公式の／役人s in Abu Dhabi earlier 拒絶する／低下するd an Emirati 申し込む／申し出 to 実験（する） all American 職員／兵員 for 解放する／自由な 予定 to Chinese 関与 in the program, something first 報告（する）／憶測d by The 財政上の Times.
中国's 関与 would raise 安全 関心s for U.S. 軍隊s operating in the UAE, said Vittori, a retired 中尉／大尉／警部補 陸軍大佐 in the U.S. 空気／公表する 軍隊. The 首長国s, 愛称d "Little Sparta" by former U.S. 弁護 長官 Jim Mattis, is home to some 5,000 American 軍隊／機動隊s, many at Al Dhafra 空気／公表する Base. It also hosts the busiest port for the U.S. 海軍 outside of the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs at Dubai's Jebel Ali port.
"Having `Little Sparta´ with the Chinese 監視 網状組織 should be a 関心 to 部隊d 明言する／公表するs," Vittori said.
