黒人／ボイコット Players for Change lead 抗議する at MLS is 支援する tourney
Now that Major League サッカー has re-started, a group of 黒人／ボイコット Major League サッカー players is using the moment to call attention to systemic 人種差別主義 across sports and society.
黒人／ボイコット Players for Change was 以前は the 黒人／ボイコット Players 連合 of MLS, but changed its 指名する this week while joining 軍隊s with the Players 連合, the NFL players group 設立するd by Anquan Boldin and Malcolm Jenkins.
黒人／ボイコット Players for Change made its first public demonstration since coming together last month at Wednesday night's 開始 game of the MLS Is 支援する tournament in Florida.
Players stood, 握りこぶしs raised, for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, the time that has become a symbol of police brutality, after a Minneapolis police officer had his 膝 on George Floyd's neck when he died. More than 170 黒人／ボイコット players, some wearing "Silence is 暴力／激しさ" T-shirts and 黒人／ボイコット Lives 事柄 直面する masks, took part in the pregame 抗議する.
"Really this 抗議する is about fighting for racial equality and human 権利s," 組織者 Justin Morrow of Toronto FC said. "We´re standing with all of our brothers and sisters across the world -- definitely across the North American sports landscape, but we see what´s happening over in Europe 同様に, how サッカー players are fighting against 人種差別主義 there. We´re standing with all of our brothers and sisters to fight this fight."

Portland´s Jeremy Ebobisse, Chicago´s CJ Sapong, Nashville´s Jalil Anibaba, NYCFC´s Sean Johnson and Colorado´s Kei Kamara are の中で some of the other players 伴う／関わるd. The group has the 裏書，是認 of both MLS and the players' 協会.

"This moment for us as a 黒人／ボイコット player pool, is that we can stand up, we can make this 声明 that´s come 完全に from us. It was so important that it was player led, it couldn´t have worked the other way around," Morrow said. "This moment of 団結 with our brothers and sisters fighting this 戦う／戦い for racial equality and human 権利s is so important. And we want to make sure that the narrative was player led, player driven in coming 厳密に from us."

"All of these people are reaching out to us, wanting to help us, and that just gets to what we´re doing here, Morrow said. "We´re putting together something really solid, an organization that is here for 未来 世代s, here to make 継続している change in Major League サッカー and in our communities."
