Verstappen's 2nd place at Hungarian GP feels like a victory
BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) - Moments away from not even starting the race, Max Verstappen's second place at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday felt like a victory for the 決まり文句／製法 One driver.
Verstappen managed to 衝突，墜落 his Red Bull car about 20 minutes before the race, rolling over a kerb on a warmup （競技場の）トラック一周 and slamming the 前線 wing into the 障壁s.
"I locked (the ブレーキs) and then I tried to ブレーキ again and locked again," Verstappen said. "I went straight into the 塀で囲む ... I thought I was not going to race so to be second was like a victory."
The unusual 出来事/事件, 特に for a driver of his ability, led to a race against time with mechanics 取って代わるing the 前線 wing and the 中断 as a helpless Verstappen waited inside the 操縦室.

He drove brilliantly to 持つ／拘留する off Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas by under one second, defending position for more than 30 （競技場の）トラック一周s at the Hungaroring against a faster car.
While it 奪うd Mercedes of yet another processional-like 1-2 finish after 吊りくさび Hamilton coasted to victory, it also を強調するd Verstappen's 評判 as one of the coolest drivers under 圧力.
"To 分裂（する） the two Mercedes is good for us," Verstappen said.
Even more so considering that Verstappen started from seventh place on one of the hardest 跡をつけるs in F1.
