Asia Today: Hong Kong lengthens 検疫s for 16 countries

HONG KONG (AP) - Hong Kong will 強化する 入ること/参加(者) 制限s for 旅行者s arriving from the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs and 15 other countries beginning Friday, 延長するing the 検疫 period to 21 days.

以前, the 15 countries, which also 含む Malaysia, Thailand, フラン and the Netherlands, were 分類するd as medium-危険, with 旅行者s able to stay only seven days of 検疫 if they were fully vaccinated and 実験(する)d 肯定的な for antibodies 事前の to leaving for the city.

A resurgence of coronavirus 事例/患者s in these countries 予定 to the delta variant led the to be recategorized as high high-危険 and 厳格な人 対策 課すd, as the 政府 sought to "支持する the 地元の 障壁 against the 輸入 of COVID-19," it said in a 声明.

The changes come after a 国内の 労働者 who had returned to Hong Kong from the U.S. earlier this month 実験(する)d 肯定的な for the coronavirus, にもかかわらず receiving two 発射s of ワクチン and 実験(する)ing 肯定的な for antibodies.

The 義務的な 検疫 period was 延長するd from seven to 14 days for fully vaccinated 旅行者s with a 肯定的な antibody 実験(する) arriving from Australia, now categorized as medium-危険. 検疫 必要物/必要条件s for New Zealand, which is the only country considered low-危険, remain at seven days for fully-vaccinated 乗客s.

Hong Kong´s "無-COVID" 戦略 has seen 当局 課す strict 国境 制限s and 禁止(する) flights from 極端に high-危険 countries, in the hopes that no 地元の community spread would 許す it to re-open 国境s with 本土/大陸 中国.

The city had nearly two months of no 事例/患者s within the 地元の community, but its streak was broken earlier this month when a 43-year-old construction 労働者 with no travel history was 設立する to have antibodies in his 血 にもかかわらず not 存在 vaccinated -- 示すing that he was probably 感染させるd some time ago.

Hong Kong has 記録,記録的な/記録するd a total of 12,037 coronavirus 感染s since the pandemic began, with 212 deaths.

The 政府 has taken pride in 避けるing compulsory 対策 or a lockdown, but some 専門家s and critics are wondering if voluntary 対策 are enough.
