生存者s of `forgotten 悲劇´ （選挙などの）運動をする for 記念の 50 years on
生存者s of one of the UK’s “絶対 forgotten” 悲劇s are （選挙などの）運動をするing for a 記念の to 祝う／追悼する the 災害 50 years on.
Five children were killed and 13 others 負傷させるd on May 30 1972, when the Big Dipper rollercoaster 衝突，墜落d in Battersea Park, south-west London.
Hilary Wynter, 63, Liz Haigh-Reeve, 64, and several other 生存者s of the 悲劇 want a 記念の 築くd in the park to remember those who died in the 災害.
“The Big Dipper was like the London 注目する，もくろむ, you know, it was the event to go to, it was the 冷静な／正味の thing to do if you’re a 十代の少年少女,” Ms Wynter told the PA news 機関.
When she was 13, Ms Wynter went to the 永久の funfair with her cousin, who was the same age.
“It went through a tunnel, around a corner and up the hill,” she said.
“I remember all of this, we linked 武器 just before we went up the hill, for some 推論する／理由 we don’t understand, and the train didn’t やめる make it up the hill ? there were so many faults discovered later ? it then started to roll backwards.”
She spent just under a month in hospital before 存在 referred to a rehabilitation centre in Headley 法廷，裁判所, Surrey, to learn to walk again.
For the first time since the 悲劇, Ms Wynter returned to Battersea Park to see some friends on New Year’s Day this year.
“I went into the park feeling very 勇敢に立ち向かう and thinking ‘権利, I’m going to look for the 記念の’,” she 追加するd.
“My husband and I poked around and we 設立する nothing.”
She said she finds the fact that there is nothing in the park to 祝う／追悼する the 悲劇 “appalling”.
She referred to the 1988 Clapham rail 衝突，墜落 and the Marchioness 災害 in 1989.
“Everything seems to have something, some sort of 記念の, and this is 絶対 forgotten,” she said.
She 接触するd Ms Haigh-Reeve, who was at the funfair in 1972 to celebrate her 15th birthday with her friend Alison Comerford.
Ms Comer ford died of her 傷害s after 落ちるing about 40 feet from the ride when trying to 暴露する Ms Haigh-Reeve from fallen 破片. Ms Haigh-Reeve 苦しむd 重要な 傷害s to her arm.
A total of 66 faults were 設立する with the ride, but nobody was 設立する 有罪の of any 悪事を働くこと.
Ms Haigh-Reeve said she had always “assumed there was something there” to 示す the 悲劇, and was shocked to find there was nothing.
The 場所／位置 of the ride itself is now covered with tarmac, and though there are 調印するs explaining that there used to be a funfair in Battersea Park, there is no について言及する of the event and the loss of life.
“There was nothing, it was as though it had never 存在するd. It was 完全に wiped out.”
She and Ms Wynter have since traced the families of most of the 犠牲者s, and they have been 招待するd to a tree-工場／植物ing 儀式 in Battersea Park on the 周年記念日 of the 悲劇.
However, they hope this is just the first step に向かって a 永久の 記念の.
Ms Wynter said they hope for a “growing” 記念の which “will last for 50 years at least, to （不足などを）補う for the last 50 years”.
Ms Haigh-Reeve is 特に keen for it to be something children can enjoy with their families, and for it to raise 認識／意識性 of children’s mental health in the 影響 of 外傷／ショック.
Discussions with Wandsworth Borough 会議 about 記念の 計画（する）s are 現在進行中の.
A 会議 広報担当者 said: “This was a 悲劇の event in the park 50 years ago. To 祝う／追悼する the 周年記念日 and to honour the memories of the 犠牲者s, we will すぐに be joined by some of their 親族s, along with 生存者s, in 工場／植物ing a 記念の tree.
“We’re also in discussions about a その上の 記念の to be 任命する／導入するd in the 未来.”
The 市長 of London, Sadiq 旅宿泊所, has said he will speak to the leader of the 会議 about a 永久の 記念の.
Speaking to BBC 無線で通信する London on Thursday, he said: “A 記念の serves a number of 目的s. I know from other 記念のs I’ve been 伴う／関わるd in , it’s a place you can go to 反映する, to think, to spend time with others to 祝う／追悼する this awful 悲劇, but also it’s a 思い出の品 of the importance of health and safety, to make sure we get things 権利.”
