Delighted Queen leads Jubilee 祝賀s at beacon lighting and on balcony
The Queen has symbolically led the lighting of the 主要な／長／主犯 Platinum Jubilee beacon in a みごたえのある end to the first day of historic 国家の 記念s celebrating her 70-year-統治する.
The 君主’s late-night 外見 at Windsor 城 一連の会議、交渉／完成するd off the start to joyful festivities which saw the Queen take to the Buckingham Palace balcony surrounded by her family.
But it was also 発表するd the 長，率いる of 明言する／公表する would 行方不明になる a 国家の Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Friday after experiencing “不快” during Thursday’s events.
一方／合間, the Duke of Cambridge was at Buckingham Palace on Thursday night to play his part in the 二重の 儀式, lighting another beacon in London.
The 主要な／長／主犯 beacon is the 69ft tall Tree of Trees sculpture, featuring 350 British-grown trees, which towers over the palace.
Created by British designer Thomas Heatherwick, the living 創造 反映するs the 工場／植物ing of more than a million jubilee trees as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) 率先 to 示す 70 years of the 君主’s 統治する, and is illuminated with 3,500 festoon lights.
The Buckingham Palace and Windsor beacons were two of more than 2,000 around the UK and the 連邦／共和国, 含むing the Tower of London, Windsor 広大な／多数の／重要な Park, Hillsborough 城, the Queen’s 広い地所s of Sandringham and Balmoral, and on 最高の，を越す of the UK’s four highest 頂点（に達する）s.
Beacons were lit at towns and cities across Northern Ireland 含むing at Titanic Belfast and St Columb’s Cathedral in Londonderry, while in Scotland, a beacon was lit at Edinburgh 城 as a piper played a tune written for the occasion.
Earlier in the day cheeky Prince Louis stole the show on the palace’s famous frontage as he covered his ears with his 手渡すs and let out a howl of excitement as a flypast roared 総計費.

In the special 二重の 儀式 with her grandson the Duke of Cambridge, who was 22 miles away at the palace, the Queen touched the 連邦／共和国 of Nations Globe to 誘発する／引き起こす the lighting of the 主要な／長／主犯 beacon outside her London home.
Lights chased along the Quadrangle に向かって Windsor’s famous 一連の会議、交渉／完成する Tower, before travelling up the 21-metre living Tree of Trees, illuminating the sculpture which towered above the palace.
The beacon formed the 焦点の point for a chain of more than 3,500 炎上ing 尊敬の印s, which criss-crossed the nation and the 連邦／共和国 in the Queen’s honour.
The Queen earlier made two 外見s on the palace balcony.
She joined her cousin the Duke of Kent to take a salute of her 兵士s returning from 軍隊／機動隊ing the Colour, after the Prince of むちの跡s deputised for her on the parade ground.
