Teachers 恐れる Year 6 are emotionally unprepared for 第２位 school
Teachers have raised serious 関心s about Year 6 pupils’ 準備完了 for 第２位 school because of the pandemic, によれば a new 調査する.
Eight in ten teachers are 警告 that 後継の Year 7 pupils will be unprepared for 第２位 school, 特記する／引用するing 恐れるs over pupils’ behaviour, ability to 焦点（を合わせる） and maths and English 技術s.

Most teachers ? 79% ? said they thought Year 6 pupils would not be socially or emotionally ready to start 第２位 school, and seven in 10 teachers said their school was organising extra support for new Year 7 pupils to 演説（する）／住所 learning gaps.
Over a fifth said their school would spend more time on classroom and behavioural 技術s, and a third said that their school would develop a more 包括的な reading programme for the new intake.
Nearly half ? 46% ? said their school was planning to 申し込む／申し出 more pastoral and emotional support.

Over half ? 54% ? were most worried about behaviour, while 38% were worried about basic numeracy, and 52% were worried about pupils’ literacy 技術s.

Four-fifths (82%) said that pupil 業績／成果 would be 衝撃d by the disruptions of the pandemic with just one in five 説 they thought the 2022 results would be as reliable as in pre-pandemic years.

“But we shouldn’t be under any illusions that this year’s 移行 to 第２位 school will be anything other than extraordinarily challenging for many students and teachers.”
