Author Hanif Kureishi says he cannot move his 武器 or 脚s after 落ちる in Rome
Author and 脚本家 Hanif Kureishi has said he is in hospital in Rome に引き続いて a 落ちる on ボクシング Day, and is unable to move his 武器 or 脚s.
The 68-year-old British 脚本家, 小説家 and filmmaker ? best known for his 作品 The Buddha Of Suburbia, Intimacy and Mother ? 株d a message on Twitter in which he said he was 存在 扱う／治療するd at Gemelli University Hospital in the Italian 資本／首都.
Kureishi said he was in the city on December 26 when he fell during a walk from Piazza del Popolo to 郊外住宅 Borghese and then 支援する to his apartment.
He said: “I had just seen Mo Salah 得点する／非難する／２０ against Aston 郊外住宅, sipped half a beer, when I began to feel dizzy.
“I lent 今後 and put my 長，率いる between my 脚s; I woke up a few minutes later in a pool of 血, my neck in a grotesquely 新たな展開d position, my wife on her 膝s beside me.”
Kureishi said he saw “a scooped, 半分-circular 反対する with talons 大（公）使館員d scuttling に向かって me” before realising it was his 手渡す.
He 追加するd: “It occurred to me then that there was no co-聖職拝命（式） between what was left of my mind and what remained of my 団体／死体. I had beco me 離婚d from myself. I believed I was dying. I believed I had three breaths left.”
Kureishi said his wife heard his “frantic shouting”, 追加するing: “She saved my life and kept me 静める.
“For a few days I was profoundly traumatised, altered and unrecognisable to myself. I am in the hospital. I cannot move move my 武器 and 脚s.”
He continued: “I cannot scratch my nose, make a phone call or 料金d myself. As you can imagine, this is both humiliating, degrading and a 重荷（を負わせる） for others.
“I’ve had an 操作／手術 on my spine and have shown minor 改良s in the last few days.”

Kureishi said he has “sensation and some movement” and will soon begin physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

The film, directed by Stephen Frears, won the New York City Film Critics best screenplay award and received an 学院 Award 指名／任命 for best 初めの screenplay.

In 1990, Kureishi published one of his most famous 作品, The Buddha Of Suburbia, which won the Whitbread Award for the best first novel and was later adapted for a BBC television series with a soundtrack by David Bowie.
The novel follows a bisexual British South Asian character called Karim Amir as he 調査するs class, ethnicity, sexuality and culture in late 20th-century London.
The 調書をとる／予約する is 半分-autobiographical and draws on a number of Kureishi’s own experiences growing up in London.
