小説家 and Nobel laureate Kenzaburo Oe dies 老年の 88

Nobel literature laureate Kenzaburo Oe, whose darkly poetic novels were built from his childhood memories during Japan’s 戦後の 占領/職業 and from 存在 the parent of a 無能にするd son, has died 老年の 88.

His publisher Kodansha said Oe had died of old age on March 3.

The publisher did not give その上の 詳細(に述べる)s about his death and said his funeral had been held by his family.

In 1994, Oe became the second Japanese author awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

His most searing 作品 were 影響(力)d by the birth of Oe’s mentally 無能にするd son in 1963.

Several of his later 作品 have a 損失d or deformed child with 象徴的な significance, with the stories and characters 発展させるing and 円熟したing as Oe’s son 老年の.

Hikari Oe had a cranial deformity at birth that 原因(となる)d mental disability. He has a 限られた/立憲的な ability to speak and read but has become a musical 作曲家 whose 作品 have been 成し遂げるd and 記録,記録的な/記録するd on albums.

The only other Japanese writer to 勝利,勝つ a Nobel in literature was Yasunari Kawabata in 1968. Sir Kazuo Ishiguro, who won the prize in 2017 and was born in Nagasaki, has British 市民権, having moved to the UK when he was five.

Published in 1958, when Oe was still a university student, the story won Japan’s prestigious Akutagawa prize for new writers.

Oe, the third of seven children, was born on January 31 1935, in a village on Japan’s southern island of Shikoku. At the University of Tokyo, he 熟考する/考慮するd French literature and began 令状ing plays.
