投資する in families to 取り組む child poverty, 勧めるs new education 連合

選挙運動者s are calling for child 利益 to rise by £20 a week and the 拡大 of 解放する/自由な school meals to 取り組む poverty and 確実にする all pupils have a fair chance at school.

The 政府 is 存在 勧めるd by the new Education Anti-Poverty 連合 to 投資する in families with children by 増加するing their incomes.

Ahead of the 予算 this week, the group has written to the 総理大臣, (ドイツなどの)首相/(大学の)学長, and the 長官s for education and work and 年金s 需要・要求するing they 演説(する)/住所 the 問題/発行する of child poverty.

In the open letter, the group 明言する/公表するd: “As a group 代表するing 知事s, 長,率いる teachers, teachers, school support staff, PTAs and others working in education across England, we are 令状ing to raise our 深い 関心 about the 衝撃 child poverty and hardship are having on the children we work with and our school system.”

It said poverty at home is the strongest 統計に基づく predictor of how 井戸/弁護士席 a child will do in school and it is ますます seeing the 影響s of this with pupils who are worried, hungry, tired, more frequently ill, and 欠如(する)ing 資源s and 適する 着せる/賦与するing finding it harder to learn.

The group 追加するd: “What is surprising is that schools and their staff are 推定する/予想するd to work harder and harder to try to break this link. Not only does this let children 負かす/撃墜する by ignoring the root 原因(となる) of the 問題/発行する, which is insufficient 世帯 income, it also 適用するs staggering 圧力 on schools. And however hard they try, schools cannot undo the 損失ing 影響s of poverty.”

The 連合 said child poverty and hardship in schools were “endemic in England before the 最近の cost-of-living 危機, and it’s getting much worse”.

The group said 確実にするing families have enough to live on would “意味ありげに lighten the 負担 for schools” while it could 改善する children’s experiences of school life.

To do this, the 連合 said child 利益 should see an 即座の 増加する of £20 per week in 支払い(額)s which it says would support lower and middle-income families “whose 予算s are ますます squeezed”.

It also called for 解放する/自由な school meals to be 供給するd to every school-age child that needs one, arguing this would save families around £440 per year per child and 妨げる food-関係のある worry and hunger at school.

The letter 追加するd: “If the 政府 rightly wants all children and schools to 栄える, then first and 真っ先の, it must 演説(する)/住所 famil y incomes.

“Inaction will 危険 losing a 世代 of children 罠にかける in poverty, held 支援する at school and 否定するd a better 未来.”

加盟国s to the letter 含む members of the Fair Education 同盟, Child Poverty 活動/戦闘 Group and 国家の Education Union.

A 政府 spokesperson said: “We are committed to supporting families with children, which is why we 増加するd both child 利益 and child 税金 credits in line with インフレーション this year and made changes to 全世界の/万国共通の Credit so that working families can keep more of what they earn.

“Since 2010 the number of children receiving a 解放する/自由な meal at school has 増加するd by more than two million, thanks to the introduction of 全世界の/万国共通の 幼児 解放する/自由な school meals 加える generous 保護s put in place as 利益 受取人s move across to 全世界の/万国共通の credit.

“取り組むing インフレーション is this 政府’s number one 優先, with a 計画(する) to halve インフレーション this year and lay the 創立/基礎s for the long-称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 growth that will 改善する living 基準s for everyone.”
