First person to swim from England to 小島 of Man hoping for World 記録,記録的な/記録するs 位置/汚点/見つけ出す

A man who became the first person to swim from the 本土/大陸 UK to the 小島 of Man hopes to 伸び(る) a place in the Guinness 調書をとる/予約する of World 記録,記録的な/記録するs for the mammoth feat.

Former army captain Adam Diver ? now a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) therapist ? 首尾よく swam 32 miles from St Bees in Cumbria on May 29 to Port Mooar in the 小島 of Man on May 31, becoming the first person to 完全にする the challenge.

Not wanting to stop there, he has been in 会談 with Guinness World 記録,記録的な/記録するs about hopefully 伸び(る)ing a place in the organisation’s coveted 調書をとる/予約する.

“I brought it up to Guinness on two occasions and on the second occasion, I said that I would do the challenge and get 支援する to them once it was done,” Mr Diver, 48, who is based in Fleetwood, Lancashire, told the PA news 機関.

“At the moment I am not sure where I stand with it, but we will see what happens.

“If they want to 追加する this into their 調書をとる/予約する, then that’s fantastic but if they don’t ? the world 記録,記録的な/記録する is still there and we have 始める,決める it and 完全にするing this challe nge was the main thing.”

He hopes that by 完全にするing the swim, it encourages others to try to take it on to 始める,決める a faster time.

“Now I’ve opened the door and people say it can be done, I hope that there is somebody else who does it in a quicker time,” he said.

“Somebody may even take 24 hours off what I did and then hopefully we can have some sort of leaderboard.”

“I couldn’t really enjoy it until I was about 200m from the shore when I could hear people on the shore and the kayakers were 説 ‘I can see your family’.

Mr Diver 試みる/企てるd the challenge last year but did not 後継する, making the moment he crossed the line even more emotional.

More than £16,000 has been raised from the challenge, which is to go to 退役軍人s’ community 利益/興味 company Healthier Heroes, which he is a trustee for, with mental health 認識/意識性 存在 at the heart of the swim.

Mr Diver was joined by a team of ex-軍の members who have all 苦しむd from mental health 条件s 含むing 苦悩, 不景気 and 地位,任命する-traumatic 強調する/ストレス disorder, and 追加するd that doing the challenge with them was “the most memorable” part.

“We also got each other through the dark times, 同様に as other 問題/発行するs that arose like the 発生させる人(物) to cook our meals gong 負かす/撃墜する, which meant that we went for やめる a long time without food or drink,” he 追加するd.

“It’s just getting through these little 戦う/戦いs, to get to the end and 達成する our 目的(とする).”

Now working as a CBT therapist after leaving the army four years ago and having served as an army captain, he said it feels like a “十分な circle moment” after going through mental health struggles himself.

The idea behind the swim (機の)カム from his 14-year-old son Dexter during lockdown.

“One day when we were out swimming, you could see the 輪郭(を描く) of the 小島 of Man and he said, do you reckon we can swim over to see nan and grandad,” Mr Diver said.

“It was from there that the seed was 工場/植物d, so I went 支援する home and spent a lot of time on the internet, having Zooms with open water swimmers and people who have swum the channel before.”
