A new 時代 - Carlos Alcaraz´s Wimbledon 勝利,勝つ 誘発するs men´s tennis into life

The narrative surrounding men’s tennis changed in the 分裂(する) second it took for Novak Djokovic’s final forehand to 攻撃する,衝突する the Centre 法廷,裁判所 逮捕する and 落ちる to the grass.

A season that looked 始める,決める to see the Serbian 粉砕する the 記録,記録的な/記録するs he has not yet (人命などを)奪う,主張するd ? a first calendar Grand 激突する, an 前例のない 25th major (テニスなどの)シングルス 肩書を与える ? instead has been turned on its 長,率いる thanks to the brilliance of 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz.

By 手渡すing Djokovic his first Wimbledon 敗北・負かす since 2017, Alcaraz has answered the one question that had been ぐずぐず残る ? could he match and より勝る the 広大な/多数の/重要な Serbian on the biggest 行う/開催する/段階 of all?

In nearly five hours of (一定の)期間-binding 冒険的な theatre, the 勢い fluctuated several times but in the end it was Alcaraz who 掴むd his chance in a final game that 論証するd everything that makes the Spaniard such a special talent.

Wimbledon had seemed the least likely 発生地 for him to 倒れる Djokovic, such was the 36-year-old’s dominance and his young 競争相手’s inexperience on grass, and, with his position as world number one 強化するd, the 時代 of Alcaraz may 井戸/弁護士席 be upon us.

“After this epic match, I think different about Novak in the way that probably in other tournaments, in other (野球の)満塁ホームラン,(テニスなどの)グランドスラムs, I will remember this moment,” he said.

“I will think that, 井戸/弁護士席, I’m ready to play five 始める,決めるs against him, good 決起大会/結集させるs, good 始める,決めるs, really long, long match and stay there 肉体的に, mentally, in tennis, in general. Probably it changes my mind a little bit after this match.”

Next month it will be Alcaraz who 長,率いるs to New York as the defending US Open 支持する/優勝者, while Djokovic has 勝利d at 紅潮/摘発するing Meadows just once in the last eight years.

There was no 疑問 this was a painful and 予期しない loss for the Serbian, but also one that is likely to 追加する 燃料 to the 解雇する/砲火/射撃 that 燃やすs so ひどく within him.

Asked if this could be the start of another 広大な/多数の/重要な 競争 , Djokovic said with a smile: “I would hope so, for my sake. He’s going to be on the 小旅行する for やめる some time. I don’t know how long I’ll be around.

“Let’s see. It’s been only three matches that we played against each other. Three really の近くに matches. Two already this year in later 行う/開催する/段階s of (野球の)満塁ホームラン,(テニスなどの)グランドスラムs.

“I hope we get to play in US Open. I think it’s good for the sport,? one and two in the world 直面するing each other in almost a five-hours, five-始める,決める thriller. Couldn’t be better for our sport in general.”

The bumper TV audience and the 星/主役にするs from 井戸/弁護士席 beyond sport packed into Centre 法廷,裁判所 were testament to that fact and, health permitting, there appears no 限界 to what Alcaraz could go on to 達成する.

One of the most staggering things about the 20-year-old is how quickly he learns under the 指導/手引 of former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero.

He had played just two tournaments on grass before arriving at Queen’s Club last month and almost lost his first match there to lucky loser Arthur Rinderknech.

He did not 減少(する) another 始める,決める in taking the 肩書を与える and, only a few weeks after 神経s 原因(となる)d him to cramp in the third 始める,決める of his French Open 半分-final against Djokovic, he 証明するd superior over four hours and 42 minutes.

“I must say he surprised me,” said the Serbian. “He surprised everyone how quickly he adapted to grass this year. He hasn’t had too many 勝利,勝つs on grass in the last two years that he played. 明白に him coming from clay, having the 肉親,親類d of style that he has.

“I think Queen’s helped him a lot. He was の近くに to lose that first match in Queen’s. Then he started to 伸び(る) 勢い, more and more 勝利,勝つs against really good players.

“I must say the slices, the chipping returns, the 逮捕する play, it’s very impressive. I didn’t 推定する/予想する him to play so 井戸/弁護士席 this year on grass, but he’s proven that he’s the best player in the world, no 疑問.

“He’s playing some fantastic tennis on different surfaces and he deserves to be where he is.”

Both men will now take a 井戸/弁護士席-earned break before 再召集するing on the north American hard 法廷,裁判所s in August when Alcaraz, not Djokovic, will be the man to (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域.
