MPs 警告する Sunak not to send `mixed signals´ on 気候 change
Rishi Sunak is 直面するing 新たにするd 圧力 to stick to previous 約束s on 逮捕する 無 after a cross-party group of MPs and peers 警告するd him that Britain was sending “mixed signals” on the 環境.
In a letter to the 総理大臣, 議会人s 含むing 保守的な former 環境 大臣 Lord Goldsmith and former 労働 環境 長官 Hilary Benn called on Mr Sunak to 論証する 気候 leadership by 拒絶するing new 化石 燃料 事業／計画（する）s such as the Rosebank oil field and 焦点（を合わせる） on green 政策s.
They said: “The 政府 should concentrate its 成果／努力s on making 活動／戦闘 on 逮捕する 無 easier, 含むing by 解除するing the 禁止（する） on onshore 勝利，勝つd, embedding a 逮捕する 無 実験（する） across 政府 and within the planning system, and 加速するing the roll-out of energy efficiency 対策 which will bring 法案s 負かす／撃墜する 永久的に.”
The 23-strong group, organised by the All Party 議会の Group on 気候, also called for Mr Sunak to commit to …に出席するing the Cop28 首脳会議 in Dubai in November and join other countries such as Denmark, フラン and Germany in calling for an “緊急の 段階-out of 化石 燃料s”.
The letter comes as the 政府 considers watering 負かす／撃墜する some of its 環境の 政策s after 保守的な 対立 to the 拡大 of London’s ultra-low 放出／発行s zone (Ulez) was credited with 安全な・保証するing the party a 狭くする victory in the Uxbridge and South Ruislip 補欠選挙.
Members of the 保守的な 右翼 have 掴むd on the result as an 適切な時期 to 押し進める for a 薄めること of the 政府 ’s 逮捕する 無 かかわり合いs, with Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg （人命などを）奪う，主張するing they were “人気がない” and “expensive”.
Mr Sunak, who was 以前 criticised by Lord Goldsmith for 存在 “uninterested” in 気候 change, said on Monday he did not want to “hassle” families with extra costs and would 追求する 逮捕する 無 政策s that were “proportionate and pragmatic”.

In their letter, the 議会人s said: “The 気候 Change 委員会’s 最近の 2023 進歩 報告（する）／憶測 to 議会 is 明白な that mixed signals on the UK’s かかわり合い to serious 気候 活動／戦闘 is 土台を崩すing this work, 損失ing our 評判, and 危険s us 永久的に 降伏するing our status as a world leader on 気候 行為／法令／行動する イオン.
“Now is a 決定的な moment for you to 論証する to the world that the UK is not demoting itself to become a passive 観察者／傍聴者 in international 活動／戦闘 on 気候 change, that we remain a 信用d partner and committed to 配達するing on our 約束s.”
Caroline Lucas, the Green Party MP and 議長，司会を務める of the 気候 APPG, said: “The 惑星 is 燃やすing, and Rishi Sunak is asleep at the wheel.
“He’s been silent on 全世界の 気候 leadership and absent on 国内の 気候 活動／戦闘 for far too long. The 明らかにする 最小限 that the 総理大臣 can do is agree to …に出席する Cop28 ? we can’t have a repeat of last year’s excruciating U-turn.
