King 誓約(する)s to 強化する `不可欠の 関係´ between UK and フラン

The King has 誓約(する)d to do whatever he can to 強化する the “不可欠の 関係” between the UK and フラン in a historic 演説(する)/住所 to the nation’s 上院.

Charles became the only British 君主 ever to speak from the French 上院 議会 on the second day of his 公式訪問 to Paris and Bordeaux.

In a speech 配達するd in English and French, the King told of the “friendship and warm familiarity” between the two countries, 同様に as the まとまり on 問題/発行するs such as 気候 change and foreign 軍の 侵略.

“Let us, therefo re, 心にいだく and 養育する our entente cordiale. Let us 新たにする it for 未来 世代s so that, I would like to 提案する, it also becomes an entente 注ぐ la durabilite (協定 for sustainability) ? ーするために 取り組む the 全世界の 気候 and biodiversity 緊急 more 効果的に.

“A かかわり合い to each other, and to the values we so proudly 株; a かかわり合い 奮起させるd by the example of the past, and emboldened to grapple with the 巨大な challenges in the world around us.

“As 隣人s, friends, partners and 同盟(する)s, there is no challenge to which we cannot rise, as we have done so often in the past. Let us stride 今後 with hope and courage ? and let us do so together.”

The King opened his speech in French thanking members for his welcome and said: “I need hardly say how 大いに honoured I am to have been 招待するd by the 大統領s of both Houses to speak here, in this hallowed 議会, which has been the upper house of French politics in one form or another since 1799.”

Charles told 上院議員s: “やめる 簡単に, the 部隊d Kingdom will always be one of フラン’s closest 同盟(する)s and best friends.”

The King was welcomed by both the 大統領,/社長 of the 上院 and leader of the 国家の 議会 同様に as a guard of honour.

The King and Queen will join Mrs Macron at the Rugby World Cup village in Saint-Denis, northern Paris, on Thursday morning.

Charles, in his 演説(する)/住所 to the 上院, said: “Millions of us visit each other’s countries every year ? a joy that we are now rediscovering after the disruption wrought by the pandemic.
