British Steel will の近くに 負かす/撃墜する the 爆破 furnaces at its Scunthorpe 工場/植物 in a move that unions say could cost up to 2,000 職業s.

The Chinese-owned company 確認するd that it planned to 取って代わる them with two electric arc 見解/翻訳/版s which can run on 無-炭素 electricity, if it gets “appropriate support from the UK 政府”.

It would build one new electric arc furnace in Scunthorpe and another at its Teesside 工場/植物.

These electric furnaces are much greener, but 要求する a lot より小数の 労働者s to keep them going.

The move left unions worried about the 職業s at the two 場所/位置s, and they said that it will also leave the UK without the ability to produce its own steel.

Electric furnaces are used to 再生利用する steel 捨てる into new steel.
