SNP 退役軍人 Michael Russell has 辞職するd from his 役割 as 大統領，／社長 of the party after three years at the 舵輪／支配.
His 出発 comes after a difficult year for the party に引き続いて the 辞職 of former first 大臣 and leader, Nicola Sturgeon, 同様に as the 現在進行中の 調査 into the party’s 財政／金融s.

This 任命 will be 支配する to 是認 of the Scottish 議会, which will scrutinise the 推薦 and take the final 決定／判定勝ち（する） on the 任命.
But 競争相手s have questioned if Mr Russell is the 権利 person to take on the 職業.

Mr Russell was elected party 大統領，／社長 in November 2020 and has a 記録，記録的な／記録する spanning almost five １０年間s after joining the SNP in 1974.
Twenty years later, he became the party’s first 十分な time 長，指導者 (n)役員／(a)執行力のある before he was elected to Holyrood as a 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） MSP for the South of Scotland in 1999.
He lost his seat in 2003, but returned to serve the same 地域 from 2007 until 2011 when he was elected as an MSP for Argyll and Bute, before retiring at the 2021 Scottish 議会 選挙.
Mr Russell also served in the Scottish 政府 in さまざまな 地位，任命するs between 2007 and 2021, 含むing 環境 大臣, Education 長官 and latterly as Scotland’s Brexit 長官.
