Payout for lab assistant compared by boss to `man who killed MP in Southend´

A student lab assistant compared by his 経営者/支配人 to “the man who killed the MP in Southend” has won a payout for 申し立てられた/疑わしい 差別.

Months after Waqas Rai was 解雇(する)d from his university placement 職業, the former 経営者/支配人 gave a lecture to his course in which he was heard discussing 解任するing the 23-year-old because he thought he had been “radicalised”.

Micropathology, a lab services company based in Coventry which 持つ/拘留するs 契約s with the NHS, 解雇する/砲火/射撃d Mr Rai without notice in December 2021.

The lecture was 記録,記録的な/記録するd and uploaded to the internet for Mr Rai and his course mates on the biomedical science undergraduate course at Warwick University to 見解(をとる).

In later correspondence with the university, the 経営者/支配人 explicitly compared Mr Rai, who is イスラム教徒, to “the man who killed the MP in Southend”.

Mr Rai’s 解雇/(訴訟の)却下 part way through the placement jeopardised his 熟考する/考慮するs. At one point he was told by Warwick University he would not be able to pass the year without 完全にするing the necessary 量 of weeks.

“At first, I felt 脅すd to speak up about it myself. I didn’t know who to go to, and I felt that a lot of students or people around my age that go through this sort of thing don’t know there are people there to help.

“I worry I’m not able to be myself because of what people might be thinking about me.

“I hope that 株ing my experience can help 妨げる it from happening to others in the 未来, but to anyone who’s been 扱う/治療するd like I have, I want to say that there is help out there.”

“I 悔いる any upset, offence or 苦しめる 原因(となる)d and I would like to wish Mr Rai all the best in his 未来 endeavours.”
