PAYDAY LENDER COMPLAINTS 'ON RISE'

(民事の)告訴s about payday 貸す人s have more than 二塁打d in the last two years, the 財政上の ombudsman has 報告(する)/憶測d.

Some 794 new (民事の)告訴s about the £2.8 billion 産業 were taken on in the 財政上の year 2013/14 compared with 296 in 2011/12 and the service 警告するd that these cries for help are likely to be just the "tip of the iceberg".

The ombudsman 恐れるs that the "stigma" associated with payday 貸付金s is 妨げるing many more people who use them from coming 今後 to 捜し出す its help.

The most ありふれた 推論する/理由 for someone making a (民事の)告訴 about a payday 貸付金 is that they are 存在 chased for a 負債 that they had never taken on in the first place, the ombudsman said.

Often, this is 予定 to fraudsters 首尾よく 適用するing for a payday 貸付金 by using another person's 身元.

Other ありふれた 原因(となる)s for (民事の)告訴 含む poor service and admin, payday 貸す人s 存在 unwilling to help those willing to 返す and using 積極的な 負債 collection practices.

The 容積/容量 of payday 貸付金 borrowers bringing a (民事の)告訴 to the 財政上の Ombudsman Service (FOS) is still tiny compared with more than 66,500 people who sought help with payday 貸付金 負債 from charity StepChange last year.

The 普通の/平均(する) payday 顧客 捜し出すing StepChange's help was juggling three payday 貸付金s.

The FOS is 関心d that many people struggling with payday 貸付金 負債 feel "権力のない", but people who do go on to complain about a payday 貸す人 to the ombudsman are more likely than not to 勝利,勝つ their 事例/患者.

Nearly two out of every three (63%) (民事の)告訴s about payday 貸す人s are 解決するd by the ombudsman in the 消費者's favour.

The FOS also wants to see payday 貸す人s taking a more 肯定的な approach and helping to raise 認識/意識性 of the 選択s people have if they do have a payday 貸付金 problem.

主要な/長/主犯 ombudsman Caroline Wayman said: "We often hear from people who took out a payday 貸付金 as a desperate last 訴える手段/行楽地 and 非難する themselves when the 負債 starts to spiral out of 支配(する)/統制する.

"It's important that people don't feel 罠にかける with nowhere to turn because of the stigma associated with short-称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 lending."

The whole payday lending 産業 is 現在/一般に を受けるing a 競争 調査, with the 十分な results of this 推定する/予想するd later this year.

The 財政上の 行為/行う 当局 (FCA), which took over 監督 of the 部門 in April, has been 段階ing in a 厳重取締り on payday 貸す人s まっただ中に 普及した 関心s that some borrowers have 設立する themselves caught in a 負債 spiral by taking on 貸付金s they cannot afford to 返す on time, meaning the 初めの cost 速く inflates and they then become 罠にかける with their 貸す人.

From this month onwards, payday 会社/堅いs have been banned from rolling over 貸付金s more than twice and the 量 of 不成功の 試みる/企てるs they can make to claw money 支援する out of a borrower's bank account has also been 限られた/立憲的な to two.

Several major payday 会社/堅いs have also recently 調印するd up to a "real time" (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) 株ing 計画/陰謀 which should help them make better 決定/判定勝ち(する)s about who to lend to, as the 計画/陰謀 will give them more up-to-date (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) about people's borrowing habits.

A 熱狂的興奮状態 recently 爆発するd when it 現れるd that the UK's biggest payday 貸す人, Wonga, had sent 偽の 合法的な letters to 顧客s ーするために 圧力 them into 支払う/賃金ing up. Wonga has apologised "unreservedly" for the failings, which happened between between October 2008 and November 2010.

Wonga is 支払う/賃金ing a total of £2.6 million in 補償(金) after sending the correspondence to about 45,000 people and police are 現在/一般に considering whether or not Wonga should be 支配する to a 犯罪の 調査.

マイク O'Connor, 長,指導者 (n)役員/(a)執行力のある of StepChange, said: "The fact that most (民事の)告訴s against payday 貸付金 companies are upheld is その上の 証拠 that when it comes to 事実上の/代理 in the best 利益/興味s of 消費者s, in many 事例/患者s they fail to do so.

"We know that payday 貸付金s are often a last 訴える手段/行楽地 for people who are already in serious 財政上の difficulty. We 勧める anyone struggling with any form of 負債 to get 解放する/自由な and impartial 負債 advice at the earliest 適切な時期."
