HOLDERNESS TARGETS MEDALS

Welsh swimmer 略奪する Holderness has his sights 始める,決める on a 連邦/共和国 Games メダル にもかかわらず a 堅い 平泳ぎ field.

Holderness goes in the 50m, 100m and 200m when the Glasgow 2014 swimming 活動/戦闘 starts at Tollcross.

The 24-year-old finished sixth in the 200m in Delhi but he is a former British 支持する/優勝者 at 50m and is looking to have more to show for his 成果/努力s in Scotland.

"I'm going for メダルs," he said. "明白に 業績/成果 is what we are all looking for, but we are all going for メダルs. End of.

"The 平泳ぎ is stacked but you have got to 目的(とする) for the podium. I don't want to just 目的(とする) for 決勝戦.

"There is a lot of 圧力 but the 重要な guys have got to be Michael Jamieson, Christian Sprenger, Andrew Willis, Adam Peaty, Ross Murdoch. I'm going to have to take 負かす/撃墜する at least three of them to get on to the podium. It will be exciting."

The Welsh swimmers have 的d six メダルs and Team むちの跡s chef de 使節団 Brian Davies is delighted with their 態度.

"It's really refreshing from a Welsh 視野 to hear the boldness of these guys," Davies said. "It's based on 証拠 and 業績/成果.

"It's 広大な/多数の/重要な to hear that. Too often in some of our sports we are too shy.

"So why not 始める,決める bold 的s and try to 達成する?"

Davies has been happy with the way 準備s have gone.

"Glasgow have done a fantastic 職業," he said. "The organisation has been first class.

"There are lots of little teething problems behind the scenes but nobody, 含むing the 競技者s, gets to see those.

"These should be fantastic Games. The 発生地s are world class and the 競技者s are world class - everybody is turning up.

"There's an over-subscription in the village, there is a challenge there for the organisers, and so far the experience has been brilliant."
