American Apparel said the model was a 30-year-old woman who was one of their photographers, and the 広告s did not and were not ーするつもりであるd to 代表する an underage girl.

The images had been 地位,任命するd on the company's website and Instagram page by a junior and 比較して inexperienced member of their social マスコミ team and had been 除去するd for a variety of 推論する/理由s after appearing only 簡潔に, the company 追加するd.

It also 否定するd that the images were part of any 支援する to school (選挙などの)運動をする or marketing 成果/努力.

It defended the images, 説 its approach was not graphic, explicit or pornographic - but featured models who were happy, relaxed and 確信して in 表現 and 提起する/ポーズをとる and were not portrayed in a 攻撃を受けやすい, 消極的な or exploitative manner.

It said: "We considered the images were gratuitous and objectified women, and were therefore sexist and likely to 原因(となる) serious and 普及した offence.

"その上に, we considered the images imitated voyeuristic 'up-skirt' 発射s which had been taken without the 支配する's 同意 or knowledge which, in the 状況 of an 広告 for a skirt marketed to young women, we considered had the 可能性のある to normalise a predatory 性の behaviour.

"We considered the 広告s had therefore not been 用意が出来ている with a sense of 責任/義務 to 消費者s or to society."

It also 論争d American Apparel's 主張 that the 広告s were not part of its school (選挙などの)運動をする, 説 they featured in its "school days" or "BTS" - which it unders tood to stand for 支援する to school - lookbook.

It also 公式文書,認めるd that it was not possible to 決定する the age of the model because her 直面する was not 明白な.

The ASA said: "We considered that, from the 状況 in which the 広告s appeared, it was likely that those who 見解(をとる)d them would understand that the model was, or was ーするつもりであるd to appear to be, a schoolgirl.

"We considered the 広告s had the 影響 of inappropriately sexualising school-age girls and were therefore 不快な/攻撃 and irresponsible for that 推論する/理由 too."

It 支配するd that the 広告s must not appear again in their 現在の form.
