Boris Johnson Tory leadership support would have been betrayal of country - Gove
支援 Boris Johnson to become the next 首相 would have been a "betrayal" of the country, Michael Gove has said.

Mr Gove 追加するd: "Boris had the 適切な時期 to build a team, Boris had the 適切な時期 to lay out a particular 見通し in the last 24 hours and I felt that he did not step up to that challenge."
He said: "I knew that by taking that 決定／判定勝ち（する） all sorts of people would attack me 本人自身で but I love my country, I could not recommend that Boris was 首相, I had tried to make that work and, therefore, it would have been a 本物の betrayal of 主要な／長／主犯 and of this country to have 許すd Boris's 立候補 to go ahead with my support."
Mr Gove said it was "telling" that Mr Johnson had failed to 圧力（をかける） on with his leadership 企て，努力，提案.
"Boris could have chosen to go on if he wished to, the fact that he didn't, I think is telling," he said. "My judgment about what is 権利 for this coun try will always guide me and on that basis I （機の）カム reluctantly and with a 激しい heart...

"I'd hoped that Boris would show that but in the end it wasn't there."
In an uncompromising interview, he was told by Andrew Marr he was 見解（をとる）d as the "Frank Underwood" - the Machiavellian character from the US 見解／翻訳／版 of House of Cards - of British politics and had "betrayed" his friends.
But Mr Gove said putting friendship first in politics did not serve the country.

"I don't believe that we will need to go 負かす／撃墜する that path," he said.
