Father's shaking left baby with '壊滅的な' brain 傷害, 法廷,裁判所 told

A healthy 13-day-old baby boy was left with "壊滅的な and irreversible" brain 損失 after 存在 shaken by his father, a 法廷,裁判所 has heard.

Daniel Sanzone is (刑事)被告 of deliberately (打撃,刑罰などを)与えるing what 医療の 専門家s 述べるd as some of the most extreme brain 傷害s they had seen when he attacked Joshua Millinson at home in October 2015.

Sanzone, who 否定するs 殺人, was alone in the lounge with the 幼児 when the baby 苦しむd a 崩壊(する).

Joshua's mother Zoe Howell, who is 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金d with 原因(となる)ing or 許すing the baby's death, told police her partner could "いつかs be a bit rough" with the child but said she had never seen him 傷つける the boy.

She later told officers: "I can't believe the dad has done it."

The pair are on 裁判,公判 at Birmingham 栄冠を与える 法廷,裁判所 where on Friday a 陪審/陪審員団 heard that it was the 見解(をとる) of a host of 医療の 専門家s that "Joshua 支えるd 壊滅的な and irreversible 損失 to the brain and brain 茎・取り除く" 一貫した with "shaking".

開始 the 事例/患者 for the 栄冠を与える, Sally Howes QC told 賠審員s: "It appears that there is little challenge to the 医療の, pathological and 専門家 証拠 that Joshua died as a result of deliberately (打撃,刑罰などを)与えるd 傷害s, 原因(となる)ing a 壊滅的な 崩壊(する) on October 24 and his death on November 21.

"The main 問題/発行する for you to 解決する is not what happened to him, but who is responsible."

Throughout the 審理,公聴会 Howell sat weeping uncontrollably and clutching a teddy 耐える in her (競技場の)トラック一周, while Sanzone had his 長,率いる in his 手渡すs.

賠審員s were told that Joshua was born on October 11 at 39 weeks, a "normal, healthy baby".

During a 決まりきった仕事 医療の examination four days later, a doctor 述べるd the baby as "active and 警報".

A community midwife who saw Joshua at home - where he lived with Sanzone, Howell and her mother Sharon Howell - on October 17, 述べるd him as "pink in colour with good muscle トン, and 警報".

But two days later, the couple turned up with their child at Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital's 事故 and 緊急 department 報告(する)/憶測ing t hat Joshua had a 無分別な on his forehead.

He was 診察するd by a nurse and doctor who 診断するd a milk or heat 無分別な, but 設立する the baby was さもなければ normal.

Ms Howes said: "The doctor 公式文書,認めるd he didn't cry when his 四肢s were moved ーするために 除去する his 着せる/賦与するs."

But against the advice of the medics, Howell then self-発射する/解雇するd her child "as she was 毅然とした she 手配中の,お尋ね者 to take him home".

The 起訴 said a bone specialist who 診察するd Joshua after his death 結論するd the 脚 and rib fractures may have happened before that hospital visit.

Three days later, the couple again brought Joshua to the hospital's 緊急 department with 23-year-old Sanzone complaining a midwife had 原因(となる)d his son's left 脚 to swell up after taking a 血 見本 at their home in Whitburn の近くに, Pendeford, Wolverhampton.

Ms Howes said Sanzone told 医療の staff "he was going to 告訴する".

When the baby was 診察するd by doctors, they 設立する "no bruising or deformities of the 武器 and 脚s" and the child was 発射する/解雇するd to come 支援する for a check-up the next day.

However, Ms Howes said, "they failed to …に出席する that review with Joshua".

On the night of October 24, Howell and her mother were at home with Sanzone, who was alone in the living room with Joshua.

Howell later told the police she was in the kitchen when she heard a "thud" from the lounge, and the baby "started 叫び声をあげるing more than he 普通は would".

Taking up the 被告's account, Ms Howes said: "She went to the living room where she saw Joshua on the settee and Daniel hovering over him as if he was going to chang e him.

"Joshua was 叫び声をあげるing, flat on his 支援する, and when she asked what the noise was, Daniel 報告(する)/憶測d that 'I dropped the remote'.

"But she noticed it (the remote) was still in its usual place."

Sanzone 選ぶd up the baby but he was "floppy" and "lifeless".

Ms Howes said: "He (Joshua) was no longer 叫び声をあげるing, he just stopped and was gasping for 空気/公表する."

Howell, 19, became "hysterical" as her mother Sharon Howell stepped in and started CPR, in a desperate 企て,努力,提案 to save the child.

Paramedics arrived within moments and 述べるd Joshua as "grey".

He was taken to hospital and transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital, with Sanzone 恐らく telling doctors: "If something f***ing happens now, there will be trouble - someone's getting 告訴するd."

At hospital, the gravity of Joshua's "深遠な" 傷害s were 明らかにする/漏らすd with a ざっと目を通す showing his brain had been 餓死するd of 血 and oxygen.

Ms Howes said: "Sedation was discontinued, but にもかかわらず this, there was no purposeful movement by Joshua.

"His pupils became continually 直す/買収する,八百長をするd and dilated - he was just 星/主役にするing.

"From this day until the day of his death on November 21, Joshua remained unresponsive."

賠審員s heard the 当局 首尾よく 適用するd to the High 法廷,裁判所 for 許可 to 身を引く life support after an 反対 from Howell, and baby Joshua passed away 平和的に in his mother's 武器.

After his 逮捕(する) but before his son's death, Sanzone gave an account to police 述べるing how Howell's mother - who despera tely tried to 生き返らせる the child - had 激しく揺するd the baby after its 崩壊(する), with him telling her "you don't shake a baby".

But Ms Howes said: "It's the 栄冠を与える's 事例/患者 it is Daniel Sanzone who was alone with Joshua at the time of this 崩壊(する).

"Joshua had been 罰金 and suddenly he was not.

"It is Daniel Sanzone, say the 栄冠を与える, who is 責任がある the 崩壊(する) because it was him who (打撃,刑罰などを)与えるd these 致命的な 長,率いる 傷害s by some form of shaking."

The 検察官,検事 追加するd it was "絶対 信じられない the mother of such a tiny baby would be unaware there was something happening to him when he was with Daniel Sanzone".

Sanzone - 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金d 分かれて with 殺人 - and Howell 否定する 原因(となる)ing or 許すing their son's death, and child cruelty between October 15 and 24 2015, and the 裁判,公判 continues.
