Woman at centre of 市民権 列/漕ぐ/騒動 慎重に welcomes PM´s 移民/移住 review

A woman from Northern Ireland at the centre of a 市民権 論争 with the British Home Office has 慎重に welcomed Theresa May’s “緊急の review” of 移民/移住 法律s.

The UK 政府 拒絶するd Emma DeSouza’s American husband’s 使用/適用 for a ビザ over her 拒絶 to call herself British.

The couple were told after their wedding in 2015 that Jake’s 使用/適用 for a family member 住居 card to remain in Northern Ireland had been 拒絶するd because Ms DeSouza 適用するd for the ビザ as an Irish 国家の.

She was told that, under British 国籍 法律s, she was a British 国民 because she was born in Northern Ireland.

During a visit to Northern Ireland on Tuesday, Mrs May said she has ordered the review to 確実にする equal 治療 for people in Northern Ireland who 持つ/拘留する Irish 市民権.

Under the 条件 of the Good Friday peace 協定 of 1998, people from Northern Ireland have the 権利 to 持つ/拘留する UK or Irish 市民権, or both.

Ms DeSouza and others have (人命などを)奪う,主張するd they were 存在 軍隊d to 宣言する as British, or 正式に 放棄する British 市民権 they 主張する they never held, to engage with the residency 使用/適用 過程.

The Home Office has 控訴,上告d against a 判決,裁定 in favour of the DeSouzas in November 2017.

Ms DeSouza, from Londonderry, said she was “shocked and surprised” that the 総理大臣 公然と 演説(する)/住所d the 問題/発行する but 追加するd she was 懐疑的な whether it would become a reality.

“This is not a small thing, it’s been happening for a long time and I am not the only 事例/患者. There are countless other families 影響する/感情d and families who have had to go through 法廷,裁判所 事例/患者s or 軍隊d and 放棄する British 市民権 or have went through all different 肉親,親類d of 過程s,” she 追加するd.

“The only 推論する/理由 we ended up in this 状況/情勢 is because of the 欠如(する) of 法律を制定する 保護s for 国民s in Northern Ireland because the Good Friday 協定 has not been fully 器具/実施するd, it hasn’t been brought into UK 国内の 法律 means there is a gap in 法律制定 in UK 法律制定 that was leaving 国民s 攻撃を受けやすい.

“Even if Theresa May goes 支援する to the Home Office and the 国務長官 and they 解決する this 問題/発行する with 移民/移住, that won’t take away from the wider 問題/発行する that there is still a 法律を制定する gap that will only 広げる after Brexit.

“Here we are 20 years after the Good Friday 協定 a nd we don’t have any of these 約束s that were made to us and now we have Brexit coming which is the greatest 脅し to the 協定.

“There is nothing stopping the UK 政府 from distancing itself from its かかわり合いs.

“It’s good news on one 手渡す but, on the other, how will it be realised?”

She said it will not be a “quick 解答” and is creating a sense of hope for members of the 国家主義者 community.
