Konta made to 支払う／賃金 for 行方不明になるd chances as French Open dreams are dashed
Johanna Konta’s hopes of reaching a first （野球の）満塁ホームラン，（テニスなどの）グランドスラム final were ended by a straight-始める，決めるs loss to Czech 十代の少年少女 Marketa Vondrousova at the French Open.
This appeared a golden chance for Konta to become the first British woman to 勝利，勝つ a 激突する （テニスなどの）シングルス 肩書を与える since Virginia Wade at Wimbledon in 1977, but she let winning positions in both 始める，決めるs slip away and went 負かす／撃墜する 7-5 7-6 (2).
In the end it was 19-year-old Vondrousova who showed the greater composure, coming 支援する from 5-3 負かす／撃墜する in both 始める，決めるs.
The first 始める，決める was a 特に bitter pill to swallow for Konta, who had three 始める，決める points at 5-3 only to lose four games in a 列／漕ぐ／騒動.
As the players took ゴルフ carts out into the botanic gardens, they were 迎える／歓迎するd by a disappointingly sparse （人が）群がる which had gathered for the あわてて-arranged contest on 法廷，裁判所 Simonne Mathieu.
And after the match Konta 攻撃する，衝突する out at the 決定／判定勝ち（する） to play the match on Roland Garros’ third 法廷，裁判所, 説: “I think the way it looks probably speaks for itself more than anything.”
Asked if she felt like she was playing in a 激突する 半分-fi nal, she said: “ーに関して／ーの点でs of the surrounding and the occasion, probably not.”

Konta looked relaxed as the players took to the 法廷，裁判所, but this was a different シナリオ from her two previous 半分-決勝戦 given she 設立する herself, remarkably, as the most experienced player left in the tournament.

The 脅すd rain mostly held off but 勝利，勝つd was whipping the clay off the 法廷，裁判所, something that Sloane Stephens felt had helped the 積極的な game of Konta in their one-味方するd ４半期/4分の1-final.
Vondrousova is an excellent mover, though, and Konta was finding it much harder to 攻撃する，衝突する through her than she had Stephens.

Under coach Dimitri Zavialoff, Konta has 回復するd the mental composure that was so striking when she 攻撃する，衝突する a high of fourth in the 最高位のs two years ago.
Underneath, though, the 28-year-old is of a nervous disposition and it was not surprising that it was 泡ing to the surface on this high-圧力 occasion.
Konta 猛烈に needed a good start to the second 始める，決める and she made it, stopping the run of games against her at five and then breaking for a 2-1 lead.

She 設立する herself in the same position as she had in the opener, this time serving at 5-4 to take the match to a decider, but again she was unable to 打ち勝つ the 緊張.

“There is nothing for me to be disappointed in or upset about,” she said. “I lost a tennis match, but I also won five. I can only take the good things from that.”
