Second 軍艦 arrives in 湾 to 保護する British ships after タンカー 掴むd

A second 軍艦 has arrived in the 海峡 of Hormuz to 保護する British ships as the Iranian seizure of a タンカー goes into its second week.

The 省 of Defence said the 王室の 海軍 大型船 HMS Duncan has now arrived in the 湾 to travel with ships 飛行機で行くing under the British 旗.

It later 確認するd that a small number of 付加 軍の 職員/兵員 are 存在 sent to a 海軍の 操作/手術s base in Bahrain as part of 試みる/企てるs to give 安心 to the shipping 産業 in the 地域.

The Type 45 破壊者 will join the フリゲート艦 HMS Montrose まっただ中に growing 緊張s に引き続いて the seizure of British-flagged タンカー Stena Impero by Iran’s 革命の Guard on July 19.

The 省 of Defence 強調する/ストレスd the importance of freedom of 航海 for 全世界の 貿易(する) and economies.

Defence 長官 Ben Wallace said: “Freedom of 航海 in the 海峡 of Hormuz is 決定的な not just to the UK, but also our international partners and 同盟(する)s. Merchant ships must be 解放する/自由な to travel 合法の and 貿易(する) 安全に, anywhere in the world.

Around a fifth of the world’s oil travelled through the 海峡 between Iran and Oman in 2018.

On Wednesday, Iranian 大統領,/社長 Hassan Rouhani 示すd that the 逮捕(する)d Stena Impero could be 解放(する)d if the UK returns an Iranian oil タンカー 掴むd by the 王室の 海軍 近づく Gibraltar earlier this month.

On Sunday he wrote to Boris Johnson 説 he hoped 外交の 関係 between the two countries would be stronger under the leadership of the new 総理大臣.

In the letter, published on his website, he congratulated Mr Johnson, and said he hoped his “only one visit to Tehran” when foreign 長官 in 2017 and now his 任期 as PM would lead to a “その上の 深くするing of 二国間の/相互の and 多国間の relations”.
