Ahead of Friday’s 会合, Green MSP Ross Greer said: “Instead of 扱う/治療するing these young people like truants, 労働 and SNP 議員s need to start listening to them.

“They must recognise that school pupils have been 軍隊d to take this 活動/戦闘 by the 失敗 of previous 世代s to stop the 気候 危機.

“Green 議員s made sure that Edinburgh led the way on supporting the first school 気候 strikes this year.

“Instead of taking this backwa rds step, the 会議 should recognise that these 活動/戦闘s are not only admirable, they are 完全に in keeping with the Curriculum for Excellence and the 客観的な of developing responsible 国民s.

“We are in a 気候 緊急, with the UN giving 政府s just a 10年間 to turn things around.

“明確に our leaders need to educate themselves on the facts before deciding whether taking this 決定的な political 活動/戦闘 損害賠償金 the education of our young people.”

The 会議’s education convener Ian Perry 以前 said: “Having discussed this with a number of people, there’s a 合意 we should support the young people with 気候 change ? this is one of the most important 問題/発行するs that’s 直面するing them.

“However, there needs to be a balance and if we 許す them more than one day, the 問題/発行する will be they are 行方不明の school.

“We are 確信して that one day won’t 影響する/感情 their education. This is an authorised day.

“If they feel really 堅固に about it and they strike and say that 気候 change is more important than their education, that is up to the pupils and their parents and co uld have the 可能性のある to 害(を与える) their education.”

An officer’s 報告(する)/憶測 ahead of Friday’s 会合 also 明言する/公表するd: “The 主題 of the strike was powerful and emotive but should not be the 無視/無効ing 問題/発行する in 決定するing whether children are encouraged to be 現在の at school.

“There are other, more 生産力のある ways to 論証する support for 気候 change.”

However, SYCS organisers 攻撃する,衝突する out at the 提案s on Wednesday.

Dylan Hamilton, 15, said: “許すing us to 抗議する once a year is 簡単に not 許容できる and will not let us get across how serious this is to the people in 力/強力にする.

“Our classic education, such as 準備 for exams, may 苦しむ because of the strikes. However, by striking we learn politics, organisation, science, independence and more about society than we’ve ever been taught.

“To say we are 害(を与える)ing our education is untruthful.

“その上に, punishing pupils for …に出席するing the 気候 strikes is a 違反 of our human 権利 to freedom of 表現.

“We 勧める Edinburgh 会議 to take 支援する this 提案 and instead f ocus on 直す/買収する,八百長をするing the 気候 危機 so we don’t feel the need to 抗議する instead of going to school.”
